My first impression of Dr. Stevens was what a laid back man he was. I met him at the seminar they had. He helped with the meeting along with his partner Dr. Chu. I knew in talking to him, he was the one for me. The members of his staff are very friendly & anxious to meet all your needs and answer all your questions These Drs. are very concerned about the aftercare & let you know how important this is to your success. If you have concerns, all you have to do is call & someone will get right back to you with the help you need. I would reccomend these Drs. to anyone. I am so happy with the success I have acheived since May 2nd. Dr. Stevens is 100% in my book
Dr. Stevens was a very kind, gentle and knowledgeable doctor. He recommended the DS surgery. His office staff is very kind and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Stevens. He was concerned about my coming home alone after surgery, he recommended keeping me in Rehab aftercare for as long as my insurance would permit. He is very concientious. He does have a sturctured aftercare program. He did address the risks of DS surgery. I rate him highly overall. I feel his surgical competence and bedside is superb.
My first meeting was at the WLS seminar in early January 2005. I thought he was very knowledgeable and matter-of-fact.
My consultation was much different - I liked him much more on a one-to-one basis. I found him very personable, thorough, very willing to answer questions and discuss all options.
I didn't know if i made the right chose in surgens or not.
the more i met with him i started felling more comfortable.

I met with my surgeon on January 12, 2005, my first impression was that he was a nice man, he was very interested in my past medical problems and my past surgerys. I have had a failed Gastric Banded Gastroplasty which helped me to loosed weight at first but over 10 years I gained all my weight back with an extra 20 lbs with it, so he was interested in knowing about that. He felt as though surgery would definatly benefit me and feels I will do well after surgery. I was impressed with his credentials hanging on the walls he seems to be a very knowledgeable man. I was forwarned that he might be a little slow but to understand that he is very committed to all of his patients and that he would be that same way with me if I need him he would spend all the time I needed him to in or out of the hospital. While I was waiting on him I could hear him in the hallway going over charts of phone calls he had gotten, he never acted like anyone was a bother and I have worked for Doctors in the past who get calls and they are like, what now?? He spent alot of time with me and answered questions that I would not have thought about asking. I never at any time felt rushed or like I was being run through a mill. I am confident he will do an excellent job, we are only waiting on the insurance approval.
I found Dr.Chu to be very friendly and qualified to perform this procedure

both great from what i have seen so far
- Dr. Chu seems to be a caring and patient physician.
- The staff is knowledgeable, patient and very helpful.
- They strongly emphasis the reality of gastric bypass being a tool. We still have to follow through to make it work.
- Followups, meetings, following a healty diet are all part of the program as well.
