I first saw Dr. Chu when I went to the WLS seminar. I imediately liked the way she presented herself and she had a kindness about her that made me feel at ease. She also had/has a wonderful staff. Bridgette was absolutely wonderful as was everyone else that helped make my dream a reality. Her and Dr. Steven's care post-opt was nothing short of PERFECT. They are very accomadating, and Bridgette helps get all of your insurance and post-opt visits straight so it is little to no stress on you. If anyone is thinking of having a WLS done, I cant think of one negative thing to say about this staff. Yall are my angels that I will never forget.

Dr. Stevens is a very concerned doctor. He talked to me about my initial choice of a lap band. He wanted to make sure that I was successful in my weight loss. His staff is very freindly and even gave me a south beach diet drink and bottle of water because I had been fasting that morning and began feeling sick.

So far Dr. Stevens is kind and caring. Everyone calls him Paw Paw. I will update more on him later after I know more.

Initially, I was referred to Dr. Stevens; however, he was out ill and I met with Dr. Chu. My first impression was neutral. I have received high accolades from many about Dr. Chu and her expertise. No complaints about her care. A member of my bookclub works with her in the OR as a surgical nurse, and she feels Dr. Chu is a leader in her field. She told me that if she had to choose, she would choose Dr. Chu. The office staff are cordial and very knowledgable. She answered all of my questions appropriately and knowledgably. Surgical competence, for this kind of procedure, is foremost with me, and she has clearly demonstrated an adept hand. Her kind, gentle, calming bedside manner is an asset.

She is great, very knowledgeable. She has a very calm feeling about her. I liked her the first time I saw her at the semaniar. I knew she was the one I wanted to preform my procedure. And after talking with her in my pre-op visit, I was more assured I had choosen the right surgeon for me.

Dr. Steven's was very quiet and reserved when I first met him. He is not the type to be abrasive or persuade you to do anything that you do not want to do. I thought at first that he was very impersonal; however, everyone I spoke to in the waiting room and at seminars LOVED him. I am an extravert...very friendly, I did not know if he had the bedside manner I needed. So I scheduled a second appointment with him with a whole sheet chock full of questions. This man was superman. He went beyond and gave personal attention to every single one of his patients. Now this causes backlogs with his cases and proves to be looooooong wait times. HOWEVER, you cannot have a Dr. take time and rush to the next patient. His office staff is great. KATE and MONA are the apples of the tree. They love and respect everyone with a true sincerity. Bridgette is tough, but thorough and knows her stuff; she knows this business inside out and upside down. She is reliable, hard working and reminds me of a bee--- hard working, persistent, thorough, tough when needed, yet sweet when you need it! rnBack to Dr. Stevens--- he is perfect for me because he calms my fears and answers questions honestly. Dr. Stevens is more than competent in his procedures and his bedside manner is impeccable. As I have heard and now believe, when they made him God broke the mold! rnAftercare is sooooooo important. I feel that since I have selected this group for my surgery I am now a patient for LIFE! The after care is amazing one of the best I have seen in any surgical center. You are NEVER A NUMBER here and they know you by name and face! rnI would rate this center a 10!rn

I like her. She sounded like she knew what she was doing and had confidence in herself and staff. I haven't had time to change it so far. She is very good. She got me in for my surgery because she understood my wants and desires. The office was very nice. Everyone I came in contact with was a big help. Nothing. They were very attentive. Just be honest and let her know how you feel and what you want out of this. Very much and do what is asked. Yes a very good one. Very throe to me. I was lucky that I didn't have any health problems or taking meds before I did this. I would have to say a 10. Both were great.

Great surgeon, great bedside manners and cares about his patients. You can tell he loves his job and seeing the results of his work.

My surgeron is a sweet lady she made me felt sure of what I needed far as surgery. She takes her time to talk to u. Dr. Chu explains the type of sugery. Dr chu is a hard worker and a good Doctor she makes such a pretty cut on your body. When a doctor cut you and it's nice, thin, find and small she is good. It is less painful with small scars. I rate Dr Chu 10.

i loved my surgeon. i couldn't have asked for a better one. she was most caring and answered all my questions. my care was the best. her staff and all the staff at southwest medical are A-1. i have recommended this facility and dr. chu to a number of people i know. they have taken care of all my needs and questions before and since the surgery. i know if i have any problems or questions they are no further than a phone call away. i would rate dr. chu, southwest medical and all the staff there 100 %. they care deeply about everyone that they treat. and know the majority of them by name. you always feel like they are your best friend. and they rejoice with all your successes and hurt when you are having problems. but either way they are there for you. supporting you and keeping you motivated.
