Grand Health Partners Bariatric Center
He was wonderful, as well as Todd his PA loved my before and after care. Dr. Baker also saved my life in 2014 when I was diginosed with a bowel obstruction and had to have emergency surgery, I was filled with toxic poison front leakage of the bowel and I had gone to my primary dr. And obgyn and er for 8 months sick done to 129 lbs and finally after calling Dr. BAKER HE FIGURED IT OUT ON FRST TEST. LOVE THIS MAN HE IS THE BEST.
Dr. Kemmeter was very concerned about my health. He said to me that while they track the weight loss numbers, his main concern was that I'd be able to walk into his office and tell him what changes weight loss had made in my life, NOT how many pounds I'd lost. What he wanted to here about was what I could do after losing wait that I couldn't do before. He was also an excellent surgeon and had a great bedside manner.
Dr. Baker was wonderful to me and I am eternally grateful. When I met Dr. Baker for the first time I was very honest with him and told him that I was not a fan of Grand Health Partners and that I had not been treated well by some staff members. Dr. Baker was surprised and WANTED my feedback about why I wasn't happy and promised me that he would change my impression of GHP. I can say that he kept his word, Dr. Baker is attentive, knowledgeable and focused on patient satisfaction.
The day of my surgery Dr. Baker held my hands and prayed with me and my family before I was wheeled off to surgery. As a woman of faith that spoke volumes about his compassion and care. Dr. Baker's team has been very helpful in the six months since my surgery and quick to address any questions or concerns. I would strongly recommend Dr. Baker to anyone considering bariatric surgery.
I have been very pleased with Dr. Baker, Kristi and my dietician.
Dr Baker was friendly, a good listener and compassionate. He is confident in his skills but yet explained the risks. The risks of not doing were more life threatening. I am an R.N. so it was very clear. He is not overly talkative but does have a good bedside manner.
I simply cannot say enough good things about Dr. Baker and his team at GHP. They have gone above and beyond to help me feel comfortable and answer all of my questions and put me at ease during this entire process. Dr. Baker was so very kind the first time I met him as well as very personable. The morning of surgery I was scared to death and he took time to pray with me. It meant more than he will ever know. I would also like to comment on how quickly and smoothly the approval process moved along. Dr. Baker's coordinators were on top of things when getting approval from the insurance company and I had to worry about absolutely nothing. If you are looking for an absolutely astounding surgeon with office staff that are astounding as well I would highly recommend GHP and Dr. Baker. You will not be dissapointed! THANK YOU DR. BAKER and GHP!!!!!
I am going to Grand Health Partners Bariatric group, and Dr. Nagle is one of 4 Bariatric surgeons. They specialize in weight loss. They have a staff that includes Dietitians, Behaviorist, exercise physiologist, and many other support staff. Their facilities are new and well designed with your privacy in mind at weigh in time. They have other weight loss options available besides surgery, and can fit a plan to your needs.
I was a high risk patient, and so far I am doing great. Pre surgery I had to complete a 14 week Aetna prep program. The day of surgery I was down 66 lbs, which credit to the education I received at Grand Health Partners, and MyFitnessPal.com.
Dr Foote is an awesome surgeon! After hearing about other WLS patient experiences with surgery, i have cone to appreciate his skill and knowledge. He is on the cuting edge of this surgery, and his practice has performed thousands of surgeries so they have extensive knowledge of best practices. I had the VSG and my husband had the RNY the same year, two months apart. Both of us had easy, textbook recoveries with no complications. I also had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time as my VSG which cured my GERD. My husband aldo had Dr Foote repair bilateral hernias, a year after his surgery, with great success.
Should i ever need future surgery, i will go to Dr Foote.

I had a hard time with this surgery and am still having a hard time. First surgery was on December 3rd then I developed a bleed and had to have a second surgery on the 4th. On the 6th I was released from the hospital thinking everthing was going to be OK. I went down to Ohio to visit my son and grandchildren and started to get ill, I was going to try to get back to the hospital on the 11th but was too ill so my daughter in law took me to the local hospital in Marion, the discovered that an absee had developed and I was full of infection. They do not do baratric surgery in Marion so the transported me by ambulance to Columbus Ohio where a drain was put in. Once I was stabalizied again the told me to get to Grand Rapids to my Dr. I then drove to GR and Dr Baker put a stint into my stomach, after a couple of days I was sent home again but once I got home I noticed that food that I was putting in my stomach was going into the drain bag so I called the hospital and they said that I have to come back right away. This time they sent me to a different hospital and a different Dr. Dr Kemmeter, He said that the Dr Bakers stint had slipped down 4 inches and that I would need a second stint which he put in the next day. He said that this is sometimes so painful that people have to stay in the hospital for the full 4 to six weeks that they need to be in. I guess that I was lucky because I left the hospital 4 day later and so far it has not been pleasant but I am tolerating it. Looking forward to getting the stints and the drain out the first week of February now I am just not sure if I will have it done by Dr Baker or if I will go back to Dr. Kemmeter who I do have a lot more faith in. I saw Dr. Baker on a TV commercial for Baratric Surgery and I know he works out of at least three different hospitals and wonder if he has his priority's right. Just my thoughts.
My surgical experience, both pre and post op, was amazing. Dr Foote was informative, compassionate, and supportive. Without hesitation, he was honest about risks/benefits, and any questions I had. I recommended him to my brother, who also had a great experience. I could not be happier with the results!!
