WeightWise Bariatric Program Bariatric Center
I had my lap band surgery with Dr. Broussard in April of 2007. I've lost over 100 lbs. with the support of Dr. B. and his entire team, including the psychologist, nutritionist, exercise physiologist, nurses and office staff. I still have 50 lbs. to go and the team continues to cheer me on, help me to tweak my eating patterns and exercise habits to see me on to success.rnrnSome things you should know: Dr. Broussard is a firm believer that the band is a TOOL and not the magic wand that instantly makes you skinny - it cannot make good food choices for you, but only controls the volume. If you want to learn how to eat correctly for life, and be held accountable for it, come see Dr. Broussard. The followup care is amazing. With a band, you're in the office several times to get adjustments or receive assistance and guidance. It's nice being with Dr. B and Weightwise because their staff is consistent, friendly and fun to come visit every time. rnrnI've thoroughly enjoyed working with the WeightWise team, and highly recommend them to anyone close to OKC. The facilities are top-notch and all in one location for everything, which is a plus!
My first impression of Dr. Walton came from the Saturday Seminar. He was so very knowledgeable of his business and so kind. My husband and I met with him at a private consultation and I felt very confortable with him. The staff was awesome. All of the staff I have dealt with have been so nice and accomodating. He totally emphasized the aftercare and changing my habits and looking at this as a new way of living. He does have a very structured aftercare program. Dr. Walton totally went over the risks of the surgery but I have confidence in him and the facility and am looking forward to having my procedure and the future.
Words are not adequate to fully express what I would like to say about Dr. Walton. He simply has saved my life. I find him to be old school. By that I mean he is the kind of Dr. who still hugs his patients!!! Boy I needed that especially in the beginning when I really felt unlovable. He is professional, truthful at the same time making sure that you know he knows his business!! And he does. I would encourage anyone considering surg to go to Weight Wise and to get a consult. I do not know Dr. Broussard but I know that if Dr. Walton has chosen him he must be a quality physician. Dr. Walton believes in the total package, nutrition, exercise and psychological aftercare. I would rate Dr. Walton superior!!!02/08/08-Yes, I still feel the same way almost 18 mo later. Has it been hard? yes, but the in the seminar Dr. Walton clearly states surg is not a cure for everything in your life that might be a problem. It is up to each individual to work out their \"issues\". Thank-you Dr. Walton for being realistic and for being caring.
I had met Dr. Walton when he was at Enid, He had took some biopsies from my oldest daughter and I was impressed with him for his professionalism and friendliness. Its hard to believe how nice all the people at office and the hospital are. Because of my age I was not certain if they would be able to help me, I am sure thankful that they took me as a patient, the question of age never even came up--Thanks
Toby is very down to earth and talks to you in a language that you can understand. He is very friendly and personable. My impression did change aover time due to the fact I trust him completely with my health care. He truely wants the best for me and is very patient with my weight loss since I can't do it perfectly. His PA Tara is excellent. She can fill your band and you do not know that you have even been stuck with a needle. The nurses are very caring and extremely friendly. There is nothing that I dislike about Toby or his staff. New patients should know that he is very frank and will tell them anything they want to know about their care. He does emphasize aftercare. That is the only way he can control what is going on with the lap band. The check-ups are structured and convenient. Toby tells you the risks of the surgery and what you can expect from the surgery and just how much it is in your control. I would rate him higher than excellent. Surgical competence is, of course, the most important thing since your life depends on it, but his bedside manner can not be beat. He is the best I have ever seen at bedside manner, but it is not fake, he truely cares about his patients.
He and his staff are very caring, dedicated and compassionate. He is a very skilled, knowledgebale surgeon, and I had complete confidence in him. He's a good listener, too.rnrnAfter care is structured and important. I knew all the risks up front.rnrnOverall I would rate him a 10 out of 10. Both surgical and bedside are great. I can't imagine going to anyone else.rnrnThese are my comments only, and everyone should realize that all outcomes by various surgeons may be different.rnrnI have nothing negative to say because I have had a very good relationship with Dr. Walton and his staff.
my first impression of him was comical.rnmy impression hasn't changed much over time.rnhis office staff is incredible.rnwhat i like least about him is while he is comfortable and confident and accustomed to every asspect of the process , in his earnest desire to be reassuring at times , is presented as being placating or just glossing over to the everything will be fine scenerio without fully acknowledging or communicating his understanding of the depth or range of fears and emotions.rnIf someone who is considering him as their doctor were to ask me i would say i wouldn't want any other doctor, and it is easy to feel personal with him and his entire staff.rnhis emphasis on aftercare is immence.rnhis aftercare program is very structured.rnhe addressed the risks of surgery as thouroughly as any surgeon i have ever dealt with.rni would rate him favorably.rnsurgical competence and bedside manner both are necessities, like most things in life those who can find balance are blessed.rnhe is blessed and i have been blessed to have him as my doctor.
Dr. Walton is so great, caring and talented. Dr. Walton was there for my pre-ops and even posed for a few pics, since I am an avid scrapbooker!!rnrnHe stopped by to visit with my family and they were very happy with him and he stopped by my room at least 3x's during my stay. rnrnWent over the basics again like getting my fluids down and absolutely no food for 2 weeks. Let my incisions heal! And there is no way for me to hurt myself as along as I follow the rules.
