Hi I'm dee. I had surgery April 2 over 5 years ago. and 2 years later my hernia repair with skin removal by Dr. Frantzides. I have never been treated so well by a Surgeon in my life. He's very kind and he truly cares about your success. I knew I could call and someone was there to help and guide me still till this day. I am soo very glad I chose him because let's face it, this is a scary surgery and you worry the whole time up to it. This surgery will save your life and you never want to go to someone who is not the best. I live in St. Louis and I drove 6 hours to have the best surgeon in the country to do my surgery. He takes his time and even cuts around the nerve that causes the dumping. I can eat what ever i want. I feel like a normal person. I can a have a small piece of cake if I want it, I don't have to feel left out at a party. I lost a total of 152 pounds and I am a work in prgress .That is amazing and I have kept it off for 5 + years. Really you wont find a better surgeon. He is my angel on earth and I have said that since the first day I walk in his office scared ashamed and in tears. He treated me like a person. Not a number. oh the best part too I have 4 little tiny scars from the surgery. He is amazing! do your reasearch and you will see. i did. I have no regrets except I waited so long to start enjoying my life.

Dr. Frantzides is remarkable. His encouragement and surgical skills have provided me with the ability to a healthier lifestyle and enjoyable quality of life. I had to travel from Tennessee to have my surgery with him and I fly for my post-op visits but it is a small price to pay for having piece of mind that you are in the best of hands. I know that also because Dr. F operated on other members of my family and they are doing great, never any complications. I wanted the same for me. I had a laparoscopic gastric bypass and I was up two hours after surgery, the next day both Dr. Frantzides and Dr. Welle came to see me and I left the hospital that day. During the Christmas holidays, Dr. Frantzides called me personally to make sure that I was progressing and having no problems,I am 3 months post-op, and doing wonderful. His staff is always available to assist from answering questions on diet to assisting with dealing with insurance. Dr. Frantzides surgical skill has truly given me new life.

was informed from the beginning as to what to expect how to proceede and how to continue to have success I would recommend him to anyone considering this type of Surgery !
On my Surgery Date I weighed in at 388 unhealthy and unhappy lbs today is my 8 month follow up appointment I am currently at 279 lbs everyone has said I look so good and now I feel it .
this surgery is not the be all end all it still takes work I walk every day and have joined a Gym a Big Step for me, the tools I have been given after this surgery has shown me that with some determination and perserverence anything is possible .
I am so Happy with the results so far and I am feeling again so much better at one point I was taking almost 300 units of Insulin a day and my blood sugar was still not controlled today I take 25 units and my sugar is between 80-100 my last A1C was 2.9 my PCP is just amazed as how much this surgery has effected my health in a good way and it shows.

I am so Greatful that I made the decision to have this done and if anyone is considering it all I can suggest is talk to people that have used the surgeon that you ulitmately decide to go with and do your homework and ASK questions.

Dr Frantzides is a no nonsense guy he will tell you exactly what is going on how and what to expect and so far everything he has told me is exactly how it has gone I went into the Hospital on a wed for a Noon surgery and was back home in my own bed by noon the next day it was amazing that all of that could be done and I was home. I really felt bad for about 5 days after surgery but it was just soreness and swelling I was able to get back to learning how to eat after a short time and things have been great.

It has been 6 months since I had my laparoscopic gastric bypass. I have lost over 140 pounds and I have not felt this good since grammer school. I thought loosing weight was going to be harder than it has been. Once you see that it works and you start to feel better about yourself it becomes a lot easier so stick with it and guaranteed you will feel like a million bucks. The best I hear from my friends is you look great. They used to say are you all right do you want my seat?

I'm very happy with my Lacroscopic surgery. My surgery was 12/28/10. As of 2/23/11 I lost over 40 pounds. I feel good and look great. My husband is very pleased with the results. I would recommend Doctor Frantzides to anyone. He promised me that I would feel no pain and I felt no pain. I've followed all of his instructions and I've seen results. I'm still on a mission to loose 60 more pounds but this is just the beginning of a new life for me. I have no regrets.

Had RNY surgery 2 years ago. Have lost over 110 lbs. since. The staff (all members), and especially Dr. Frantzides were nothing but professional. A 100% positive experience. Have never looked and felt better. Am in the best shape of my life. Am now able to do everything that I had been putting off for years. I would recommend Dr. Frantzides highly to anyone considering this type of surgery.

It has been 8 months since my surgery. I feel wonderful. Life is great. I have no side effects. I have lost over 80 pounds. My relationship with food is now easy and seamless. I have no regrets at all. This was one of the best decisons I have ever made. Everything is easier being 80 pounds less. I enjoy life so much these days. Dr. Frantzides did a wonderful job and I would recommend him to anyone who is interested in weight loss surgery. The office staff, hospital, follow up etc were all wonderful. From my first doctors visit where I inquired about the different options to today, all my questions have been answered. Everyone was very supportive. The first week of recovery is a challenge, so be prepared for that. However, after the first week things get much easier. If you have been struggling with your weight and are considering this option, I highly recommend that you talk to Dr. Frantzides. He really is the best.

It's been a year since Dr. Frantzides performed my surgery on January 22, 2010 and I'm feeling wonderful. I went to him when I had lost all hope of improving my quality of life. I had previously had an open hiatal hernia repair that failed and I was diagnosed as morbidly obese. I was in constant pain, choking on everything I ate, had difficulty in breathing and just walking had become an effort. Several other doctors had told me that they wouldn't accept me as their patient due to my medical history and prior surgeries. One of the doctor's at the University of Illinois told me that I would possibly die if I proceeded with this surgery.
From the time my husband and I met with Dr. Frantzides in his office, he explained everything he could to give us the hope and understanding of the risks involved in the surgery. It was an extremely difficult and long surgery and I know that he was probably more worried than we were. I told my husband and family that with all the risks involved I was putting myself in God's hands and his skills and no matter what happened it was what I wanted to do. I'm sure that God was with all of us during the surgery. Dr. Frantzides managed to do the operation laparoscopically though other doctors wouldn't even attempt it open. He repaired my hiatal hernia and also did a gastric bypass. I feel that Dr. Frantzides was the guardian angel at my side as God guided his hands. I don't think there is a day that I don't appreciate the change in my life. I look forward to each day as I probably wouldn't have without his help and caring. He is an inspiration to me and I am sure to many others. Words can't express the admiration and love we have for him. I would also like to express my appreciation to his office staff who made us feel so comfortable as they treated us like family.

Had the opportunity to meet this wonderful Dr. Dr. Frantzides and his staff are wonderful. He is a very informative,caring Dr. I can't wait to have my Surgery. This Dr. is not only caring, he's very attractive, and his bed side manner was great. I left that office more informed than I came. I was nervous at first, but he comforted me. Presently I am having insurance problems and Dr. Frantzides was very helpful. I don't have to even wonder about whose gonna do my surgery, cause I am gonna WAIT until this insurance Mishap subsides. I am at the one year after surgery point. One year after laparoscopic gastric bypass I am 100 pound less. I have no joint pain and I am almost off my blood pressure medication, I am 5'8" and now I fit into size 12 pants where before the surgery I was wearing size 22-24, I am playing sports that I didn't play since high school, I am on a baseball team and actually run the bases, everything is better. This was so easy, the surgery was so easy, loosing the weight was so easy. People think that you will never eat again, but you are eating everything just with more conciousness and it is the best decision I made in my entire life and I definetely think that I will live longer because I am so much healthier.
