Comprehensive Weight Loss Center at Emory Decatur Hospital Bariatric Center

I transferred to Dekalb Surgical Weight Loss Center from another “weight loss facility”. When I first went I wanted Dr. Steinberg because his name is the main name spoken when you refer to Dekalb Surgical Weight Loss Center. However, Dr. Rashid had an open appointment before Dr. Steinberg and because I had already started the process I wanted the first available appointment. Can I say I am so glad that I am impatient!!!!! Dr. Rashid is the best. When she walked into the room during our first consultation she looked straight and my eyes and greeted me, followed by a firm “you’re in good hands, handshake” I felt comfortable and she listened and answered every question I had. The main reason I am writing this is so that people can start associating Dr. Rashid with Dekalb Surgical Weight Loss Center because so far she is a wonderful doctor who seems to really care about her patients. I am so glad that she will be walking this journey with me, God, and my two sidekicks (who are also patients of Dr. Rashid) I am so ready for this ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very impressed with my surgeon. She has been so understanding and personable through this. Seems to really care and gives me whatever time I need when I have questions. The staff is very helpful and I find all of them will do whatever you need, day or night, to help.

When I first saw Dr. Scott Steinberg I was very confident I had made the right decision. I could tell he cares for his patients right away. Very kind.He is just that and more. A very intelligent man. I went to the class and boy did the whole staff blow me away. I had a million questions and they had a million and one answers. I was slapped with the wow factor time after time again. They really know their stuff. Very professional and polite. The staff is amazing. He really cares for u as a patient and not as a number. The aftercare program is just as you never left. I was addressed everything about the surgery and how it would affect my life and the loved ones around me.I rate DR. Dr. Rashid has a wonderful bedside manner. She performed my (and two of my coworkers) surgery. My family was impressed upon meeting her. She is supportive, helpful, and helpful. I honestly can't say anything negative about her. The office staff is also pretty attentive and hands on. The practice has a support group, and I've been a few times...very informative and well organized.

My first impression of Dr Steinberg was wow he's shorter than I expected...lol...and he's cute. All jokes aside he seemed very concerned about making sure that I new all of the facts good, bad, and ugly of having WLS. Very nice and personable.rnrnDr Steinberg's office staff is the best those ladies are on top of their game, they let you know what you need and response times are usually withing 24hrs. Four stars for them and their service ****.rnrnAftercare is a big factor with Dr.S, he strongly emphasis that this is a lifestyle change not a miracle cure, and it has to be maintained every single day with exercise, proper diet, daily vitamins, and support groups.rnrnOverall on a scale of 1 to 10 Dr Steinberg and his staff rates an 11!!

Dr. Rashid is THE best, most gentle, compassionate, brilliant and wonderful surgeon!! We love her!

Dr. Scott Steinberg is a wonderful medical doctor. My first impression of him was that he was kind, appoachable and helpful.

Knowledgeable, Honest. I've met him 3 times so far. Once at the initial introductory meeting. Once when I had my first consultation and the most recent when I saw him after I was approved and signed the paperwork. He's a busy person but took the time to discuss what I wanted answers to. His staff is friendly and caring, again very busy. I am waiting out the weeks between being approved and the actual "event." I'll have a better opinion after that point. But so far I feel I am in good hands. It's not what I saw on some of the TV shows that explore this process, but again it's TV.
Close enough though, just that the pace in the office is faster. More to come!

The first impression of him was admiration. I had already heard great things and when we first me, he grabbed my hand and smiled and I felt totally comfortable. The office staff are kind and responsive. For me, surgical competence and bedside manner are BOTH important and he has it all. My PCP referred me to him after I mentioned Dr. Duncan and it was the best referral I ever received because the organization and responsiveness is hands down 100% better. If my experience is this good out of the blocks, I can't wait to have surgery because I know God will protect me and guide the hands of this wonderful man to a successful recovery.
