Dr. owens is not very formal; he's very engaged with his patients and even provided me with his cell phone #. He is a very ethical man. He offers advice but he isnt pushy. His staff is very professional and there wasnt anything i didn't like. There is a structured aftercare program but I'm not using it. Dr. Owens did a follow up on me and relieved the pain i was having . I would say he is an excellent doctor.

Dr. Owens is a very kind and compassionate man. He and his staff are great, very helpful and friendly. Future patients should know that he is very easy to communicate with and has both great bedside manner and surgical competence. He is wonderful!

My impression of Dr. Owens was that he was intense , knowledgable and patient. Overtime it became stronger and eventually skyrocketed. He has been doing this a long time and is very complete. I'd tell future patients that he is excellent and there isnt anything i didnt like about him.

I was very impressed with Dr. Owens' background and felt he was going to get me on the right track. I grew to look forward to his many good suggestions. His staff is very efficient and compitent too.
I never had a negative thought about Dr. Owens- any doctor that gives you his cell phone, shows his interest in my success. He is very truthful -I never had to guess what was going to happen. He answered all my questions in a layman's language. He does stress aftercare and that's where you need him the most. His surgical competance and bedside manner were great. I liked the way he made me feel before, during and aftery surgery. I would rate him a #10 on a scale of 1 to 10!

I think that future patients should know how caring he is and that he would go to any extreme for patients. After care is a big priority for him. He's taken care of me for 7 years. I would rate him a perfect 10 on a scale of 1-10 and say that both his bedside manner and surgical competence are the top.

Dr. Owens was referred to me by my primary care physician. I found him to be very straight forward and to the point. I did feel uncomfortable at first because he seemed like this wasn't a big deal to him. My impression changed over time, and i got much more comfortable around him. He is very dedicated and he lets you know to call him whenever- Cell phone included! The aftercare program is structured and he explained everything about the risks of my lap band surgery. I would rate him a 10 overall- I've already referred him to a friend! His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great!

I am finally done with Dr Owens....at first I thought he was good but wasn't so involved because of his bad back...now I realize that I should have done more research...I am not the only patient that has had problems.....when you pay cash and go into his office and his staff tells you the $145 is for a week (meaning if you have to go back covered) and then you go into the office (Orange office...really stinks - if you do see him go to the Rancho office...much more helpful staff there) the next day and they charge you again and tell you that you are mistaken must be talking about a different office..in short a big rip off...I am looking for a doctor to continue with but one that really does know their stuff and is available. Really all my fault for not doing more research....I paid cash and should have realized when they rushed me through in less than 2 weeks that there was something fishy...please do your research before you pick any doctor....very important......

Dr. Owens was the right surgeon for me. He is a true rock star! At my first visit with him, he was so nice and his way of 'telling it like it is' was the best way for me to understand what I was to go through. I would reccommend him to everyone!

The staff at Rancho Specialty Hospital was awesome! I had my own room and left with a gift basket that had vitamin samples, protein shakes, a journal and a pedometer! Their Bariactric Program Coordinator is Stevie Blair and she is available 24/7 as well as Dr. Owens! They both give you their cell numbers.

It was the best decision I ever made! I have gained an extra 10 years of life and can now jump rope with my kids!
