My first impression of Dr. Owens is he's compassionate to the needs of morbidly obese patients. He appeared well educated and thoroughly knowledgable about the procedures.

Office staff is extremely supportive and knowledgable. Many on their staff have had the surgery and can offer first hand experience.

Aftercare is extremely important and they stress it to the max.

Surgery risk is addressed in a typical fashion.

Rating from 1 to 10 with 10 being perfect. I give him and his staff a 9!

If any of my friends ask about a reference I would definitely refer them to Dr. Owens and his program. So far, I am very pleased with the results and have experienced no suprises.

Clean cut and professional looking

Office staff is GREAT! Very helpful and kind
Dr.Owens is a very skilled surgeon and does good work.

He does a good job with the surgery. I haven't had any problems with the actual proceedure. I did have a post op infection but I was told this was not uncommon with wound infections.

The aftercare program is one of the best I know of. They have weekly meetings and allot of support for pre-op and post-op patients.

So far Dr. Owens and his staff have been wonderful! My first meeting was 12/20/99, pre-op 2/8/00, and surgery scheduled for 2/18/00.

I liked Dr. Owens overall approach - blunt and frank. His office staff is exceptional. Really on the ball. Though I don't know that I feel I really know what I am getting in to. I mean, I know it is a medical necessity for me. But, for instance, I'd like a sample of the types of meals I would prepare in the future. There are risk in all surgeries, and I think he covered that well. But I feel I need to do more research for myself. Your first visit you are nervous, you forget to ask important questions, things are done so quickly. I'm sure once the surgery is approved by my insurance, we will sit down and go over more of this. (I hope!)
