Dr Tran and staff were all wonderful.

Drs. Halmi and Tran are great! Potomac Hospital's bariatric care was wonderful. No complaints and so happy I went to them :)

My first impression of Dr. Fullum was he is a very attractive man. Although he is attractive his knowledge of WLS and his easy going nature are outstanding. He is very patient. I have visited other WLS offices and they talk at you not to you. His office staff is on point. That Christine Bauer is no joke. She is so straight forward and thats what I need. She puts it out there just as it is. I will update more after my new birthday-7/8/08.

I kept an open mind when meeting Dr. Fullum for the first time at the information meeting. He was warm, smart, great looking, confident, caring, and to the point. more to come..

I actually didn't know that Dr. Tran would do my surgery. I saw his partner in the practice, Dr. Halmi for my first two appointments. At first I felt offended to have been \"passed off\" to another surgeon on the day of my surgery, but Dr. Tran communicates very well and is upbeat and I think he did a great job. I don't think the office staff is very knowledgable and they tend to confuse things....ie scheduling me for an appt with the office nutritionist when I didn't need an appt with the office nutritionist because I went through the hospital nutrition program and then calling me at the last minute to say I didn't need to come, when actually I did need to come because I was coming in for my one month checkup also. I had read everything I could find on the risks of surgery so I didn't have many questions. I believe that both surgical competence and beside manner are important. I would definitely have my surgery again. My only complaint was that the hospital did not have any available beds the day of my surgery and I had to lay in the recovery room on a very uncomfortable rolling bed for five hours and it was very miserable on my back. The nursing staff was exceptional at Fair Oaks Hospital.

03/01/05 Well, I changed my surgeon again. I am seeing Dr. Roy Smoot for a second opinion. The appt. is 4/20/05 and I was told it would be a 3 1/2 hour appt. Different from the 20 minute visit with Dr. Magnuson, who was great, but I think a little too backed up as it has been months and I have not heard anything from them. Another factor for me was that Dr. Smoot does the procedure laproscopic and Magnuson only did it open. As a single parent, recovery time makes a huge difference for me. We'll see how this goes.rnrnrnrn4/20/2005 - Dr. Smoot and the team there was awesome. I am attending their support group meetings while I complete the insurance co. requirements for submitting the Request.rnrnrnrn12/16/2005 OMG - I was approved!!! Well, Dr. Smoot's office, the entire team has been wonderful, they are exactly what I was looking for. Dr. Smoot is retiring, but the surgeon who assisted Dr. Smoot is taking over the practice everyone has confidence in him. I am so happy to have DR. FULLUM perform my surgery on January 24, 2006 (Due to a scheduling conflict, I am happy to have Dr. Fullum perform surgery on 2/17/06!!!)

The entire group is terrific. Dr. Tran is the most wonderful Doctor I've ever had the pleasure to be a patient of. rnrnI had my surgery on 3/6/07 and I have nothing negative to say about the entire practice. The staff at Potomac Hospital were great, very compassionate and responsive to the needs of larger patients. rnrnI have no problems ever reaching the office by phone. rnrnThis is the only surgery I've ever had in my entire life, at 55 years old, that's an accomplishment, and I would NOT HESITANT to recommend Dr. Tran and his staff at all.

Dr. Fullum is amazing! He is so personable. Someone told me that he is your WLS cheerleader. I would have to agree. I feel that he is just as much interested you my success as I am. I ask him if he minded if we prayed together before my surgery. He said \"sure thing.\" He took my hands and I led us in prayer. It was wonderful. He checked on my twice after surgery. I was so happy to see him. He wanted to make sure he answered all of my questions. I feel very blessed to have chosen such a wonderful surgeon.

Dr. Fullum is wonderful and his staff (especially Chris) is incredible. They helped with insurance approval despite several complications. Dr. Fullum has a mandatory informative meeting and voluntary support group once per month. rnrnHe visited me in the hospital and everyone made sure I was very comfortable. Several of the nurses in the hospital raved about Dr. Fullum and his staff since they were also patients.
