Benefis Bariatric Institute Bariatric Center
I felt he knew exactly what he was doing and I felt the kindness. Yuo can see it in his face as he talks to you. I am so glad I picked him. My husband's ex wife went to him and she gave me his name. He was everthing she said he was. I am so greatful to him and Lisa. They have been outstanding in taking care of me. I feel like he and Lisa are my angels in my life. I am only 17 days out and have lost 22 lbs. They gave information to me that I can understand and help me whenever I need it. Everything was great about this whole experience so far. I go back on the 12 of Jan. I am taking my Mom with me to see him. I have that much confidence in him. I totally trust him not only with my life but my Mom's. Thank you so much Dr. Rohrer and LIsa!!!!!I REALLY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY SO FAR.
It's one of the biggest decisions a person can make in their life. I have had several operations on my knees and back, leading to my weight gain. Having to do something to get moving again, I places all my eggs in one basket (so to say). After talking with others who had the surgery, I contacted Dr. Rohrer to see what my options were. He was great! He explained everything to me and gave me information to take home and review. I was also very impressed with his office staff. Every time I called, they were very helpfull and talked to me like they've known me forever. Dr. Rohrer is ver personable and easy to talk to. He listens to what you have to say and doesn't make one feel uncomfortable when talking about the difficult stuff. When It came time to do the surgery, I was extremely nervous. Thanks to Dr. Rohrer and his staff, I was able to feel reassured and comfortable with my decision. After the surgery, he talked with my boyfriend and explained how things went. Then, he visited every morning and gave me encouragement. The first four days of recovery were the hardest for me. I had a lot of swelling and wasn't able to swallow anything! Every time I tried, I would spit it back up. I felt frustrated and discouraged... "What did I do!!!" was the question I kept asking myself. However, all of the hospital staff and Dr. Rohrer kept reassuring me that it would get better. Finally, I was able to drink liquids and go home. Dr. Rohrer is a great doctor and I am thankful he was the one performing my surgery. His bedside manner is wonderful and so is his competence. I couldn't have been ini better hands. Now I'm on my way to a new body and a new lease on life. Thanks.
I have never known a more caring/compassionate man for a Dr. He wanted to make sure each and every question I had was answered. He took all the time in the world I needed. Throughout the whole hospital stay and post op visit, he remained so kind and caring. The office staff was the best. Always available to answer any question, and so very helpful. I live over 500 miles away, and he let me decide if I'd like to return to him for aftercare. After witnessing what a wonderful surgeon/man he was, I will try to always make it for my appointments with him. He spelled everything out about the risks of surgery and not having it, every little detail was thouroughly gone over. I rate Dr. Rohrer a 10. The man is a genious! He showed great skill, wonderful bedside manner, and total compassion. The only downside of my whole stay is that I warned him of my worry of pain control, and it ended up being the worst part of the whole stay. I knew he felt helpless on what to do, and told me once I passed the swallow test, he could get better control over my pain, he was totally correct there.
Dr. Rohrer was very nice and very informative. I liked the fact that he talked to me like I was an intelligent person, but was more than willing to answer any questions and explain anything I was concerned about. My impression of Dr. Rohrer has only slightly changed, but for the better. His office staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I can't say that I have really any complaints at all or this is anything that I don't like about Dr. Rohrer or his staff. What I would tell future patients is to make sure this is something they really want/need to do. It is a lifestyle change and a huge commitment as Dr. Rohrer explains during your initial consultation. It is not the quick fix I thought it would be and is harder than I thought it would be. Certainty and commitment is the key to success when deciding to have this surgery. Aftercare was discussed and I feel it is a structured aftercare program. I had an appointment a week after surgery, 3 months then another one at 6 months after surgery. I have always felt that if I had any questions or concerns that I could contact the office and I have. I have some interesting side effects that may or may not be related to the surgery and Dr. Rohrer and Lisa have been very available and helpful!! I am also very luck to have a primary care physician that has been very involved with my aftercare and I do believe he has been working with Dr. Rohrer and his staff to make sure that I have the aftercare that I need. The risks of the surgery were explained thoroughly and I felt very confident in Dr. Rohrer and what the risks meant to me. I would rate Dr. Rohrer and his staff at a 10+ Dr. Rohrer had great bedside manner, surgical competence and an awesome office staff..what more could a patient ask for :-)
I met Dr. Rohrer for the first time today and I found him to be very professional and very nice.
The staff at his office were very friendly and so pleasent to talk with.
Dr. Rohrer is very open and honest and he describes the surgery step by step and he is will to honestly answer any and all questions you may have.
He did explain all risks in percentage rate and he also explained what risk I personally would have.
I would reccomend Dr. Rohrer to anyone in or around the area thinking on having the surgery. He does have a great bedside manner and office manner both in the same.
My first impression was wonderful. He was full of great information and was very supportive. I can't believe they could make such a quick surgery date. My first appointment was September 10th and my surgery date is October 4th. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Rohrer as my surgeon. His office staff is very professional yet super sweet. I fell very comfortable with the entire experience and can't wait to have the whole thing behind me. I'm confident that Dr. Rohrer is the best surgeon for me.
Dr. Rohrer seemed to quiet at first and I like humor and feel people heal quick too, so at first I thought he was a little to quiet. As I got to know him I found he was a very kind and compassionate person. I am also and old OR nurse and knew him from there and that is why I went to him cuz I had seen his work. Getting to know Lisa his office nurse has been great and she is so helpful. I have since accepted the job as the Benefis Bariatric Nurse Counselor and she has help me get the information I have needed to get out to the patients. Both Dr. Rohrer and Lisa try to bend over backwards to help people get approved for this surgery. Plus their aftercare is outstanding and long term. Risks were also pointed out and even though I am an old OR nurse he did not take for granted I knew everything. Overall I would rate Dr. Rohrer an absolute 10 in my book of surgeons. And his competence and bedside side manner are fabulous.
My first impression of Dr Rohrer was very good he was nice and proffesional. he took time to explain everything and almost answered all my questions before I even asked. He was very forthcoming and gave me and my husband some great info to take home. His staff, Lisa was very nice and helpfull. She made it very easy for us. Dr Rohrer explained all the risks and measure taken to prevent them but also explained that it is a serious surgery and should not be taken ligtly. He explained his after care and he does checkups for at least 3 years after. He had a great bedside maner and made me feel really comfortable. I have faith in his abilities. I cant wait for him to do my surgery.
