Bariatrix Florida Bariatric Center
My first office was Dr.Marema at Holy Cross. I did not get the help I needed to get insurance approval. My main Doctor then refured me to Dr. Wizman, and with his treatment staffs help I got my approval within a month.
Dr, Wizman is very direct.
His staff is helpful and efficent.
There wasn't anything I did not like.
Future patients should know as much as possible about the surgery and be ready to follow his direction.
He advised sticking to a regimine for best results.
The risks of surgery was discussed, and sugestions given to minimize the ones that were in my control, the rest I had to let them deal with.
My surgeon and his staff were the best, in all areas.
I would have to credit his ability to my overall positive experiance. I was fortunate to have very little pain or complicatations.
My first impression of Paul Wizman was that he was very cocky and egotistical...which is exactly what I want in my surgeon. Over time, I did learn that he is an excellent technician and deserves all the touting he gave himself as a surgeon.
The office staff is wonderful. Without Kendra, I don't know what I would have done post op. Where Dr. Wizman may not be able to accomodate...she fills the bill in compassion, caring, tissues to dry tears and hugs if needed.
Wizman's record speaks volumes. He does exclusive laproscopic proceedures with to date I believe only one open. That's talent. I would recommend he and his staff highly.
Recently I needed to be hospitalized due to a slow heart rate, Dr. Wizman arranged for a cardiologist to meet me at Northwestern Hospital, where I bypassed the ER and the admitting process and a room and bed were all waiting for me. Additionally Dr. Wizman took personal time away from his family at the Holidays to fully informing me of what was going to be done, sitting with me until I felt ok, I appreciated his humor, and his compassion. He returned the next day, was very hands on and elavated my confidence and original admiration for his abilities as a Physician. I would 100% endorse Dr. Wizman and his staff for this procedure.
What a man! Incredible! Did I mention that I LOVE this man? Wow! I have nothing but acolades for this man.
He is intelligent, cocky, and very self-assured. His bedside manor is also impessive.
His office staff is great too! The were able to answer questions for me, and they were very amiable.
If you live in Central/South FL. use Dr. Wizman. His aftercare is wonderful as well.
I met with Dr. Wizman the first time for my consultation. I found him to be warm and caring. he spent as much time as I needed to have everything explained to me. He answered all my questions including the silly ones. I had to wait in in waiting room for over an hour but it was worth the wait. he takes his time with his patients and his patients appreciate it. I found his office staff to be very effecient and attentive to details. I called and left a message for someone to call me back and they did the same day. Dr Wizman has performed close to 400 RNY surgeries and he came highly recommended.
11/12/03 I am now 16 months post-op and stabilized at my goal weight & BMI. Dr. Wizman and his staff have been incredibly supportive during my weight loss. I have some unusual health problems and Kendra is wonderful in helping research possible solutions. Dr. Wizman is always on the other end of the phone line if I have a question or problem. You new people just getting started... you picked the right surgeon and team! :)
11/15/02 Dr. Wizman is a superbly skilled surgeon who genuinely cares about his patients. He has an excellent staff, who have always been very helpful and return calls promptly. He has an established support group that is very active with on-line support, monthly meetings, and clothing exchanges. A different speaker/subject is covered at every monthly meeting.
In his introductory meeting Dr. Wizman makes no attempt to hide the risks or talk anyone into the surgery. He is completely open and up-front about the risks and brings in his post-op patients to report on both bad and good experiences.
Dr. Wizman's surgical skills are of the highest order, but his personal organizational skills could probably use some work. He attempts to be all things for all patients and sometimes things get lost in the shuffle. His personal charm gets him out of what would otherwise be very tight situations.
I would give him an overall rating of excellent.
My first impression of Dr Wizman was that he was very informative and a very funny guy. His office staff is very helpful and caring and they will answer all your questions even if you think they are dumb.He really explains the benefits and the risks of the surgery and lets you know that it might not be for everyone.I had initially opted for another surgeon, but i believe fate made me change my mind and choose Dr Wizman and i am 100% happy in my decision.Only one thing, I wish his office was closer to my home(LOL)
Dr. Wizman is an absolute Angel. He is the best. He is very down to earth and funny to boot. He give you all the facts up front. He took very good care of me before, during, and after surgery. My prayers are always with him because he have given help to so many people, I just pray that he will always be as successful as he is. His surgical competence is excellent and his bedside manner is as well. The staff is his office is very helpful and kind. The only negative is that each patient is required to pay a one time fee of $500 for support groups prior to surgery, whether you can make it or not.
Called the other surgeon I wanted to have it with, and he doesn't take my insurance... so I called another surgeon and signed up for his information session. This surgeon also comes highly reccomended, so we will see what happens, Thursday at 6pm!! It can't come quick enough.
I met Dr. Wizman @ a group orientation. He is very knowledgable and very confident in his own work. He answered all of the questions I had, as well as the people in the group. He stresses aftercare and that you should call him no matter the time or day if you feel something is wrong after your surgery. He had a powerpoint slide show that was very informative. So far I only have good things to say about him. The only surprise I had was the $650 fee for aftercare. Not a problem when one considers the benefits of such a program. Before a one on one consult w/ him, he wants you to have all the necessary papers, medical necessity letter, 2 year diet history, pysch evaluation, recent labs and pyshical, nutrition consult, etc. So I am just waiting on my pysch report, already had the evaluation, it takes two weeks to get the report back and I have my nutrition consult on July 30th. Then I will be ready for my consult w/ Dr. Wizman. Hopefully BCBS won't be a nightmare, but I'm not going to make myself crazy about it.
