Henry Ford Bariatric Surgery Program Bariatric Center
I love Dr. Genaw, he is kind and makes you feel very at ease.
I would rate him at a perfect "10"
Dr Carlin seems to very happy, confident and professional, all in one. He smiled a lot and made me feel so welcome. As well he was very informative and emphasized support groups and aftercare. They have a structured aftercare program that involves a support group, a place to exercise etc.I found the support staff at Henry Ford Hospital to be very knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend Dr Carlin at HFH to someone seeking weight loss surgery as my surgery and recovery went so good it amazed me. I feel that Dr Carlin exhibited wonderful surgical competence and bedside manner. He even discovered that I had a very nasty hiatus hernia that managed to fix for me during my surgery. I owe him so much.

The first impression of Dr Carlin was very comfortable he answered my questions and concerns and even my adult son's concerns. His support staff was excellent. I never felt hurried at any appointments and was always given 100%. Future patients should know that Dr Carlin is the best and not only in personality but in patient care both before and after surgery. The risks of the surgery were always discussed so I knew what I was going to have done. Dr Carlin and Henry Ford Main Hospital in Detroit I would rate the experience as Excellent!! I think Dr Carlin and Henry Ford Hospital have the total package of surgical competence, bedside manner, knowledgeable and patient support staff.

The Seminar of Great Lakes Weight Loss Center was great. I was hoping to have Laker there, but ended up with Webber. Weiner is Laker's cousin. Anyways, I did have consultation with Laker (who was referred to me by my own doctor Cooper, and my GYN Salsen in West Bloomfield).
My feeling on his professional behavior put me at ease, the staff was wonderful.
I had my RnY Lap Gastric Bypass on 3/16/10 at Harper Hospital. I go today for my first post op check up to have the drainage tube removed.
I am 50 yrs old, I was 358.6 lbs going into surgery. I ended up with 6 small incisions, and the drainage tube to watch how things were healing. I was released on the 18th after instructions and seeing Marty the dietician/nutritionist. I am writing my journey on facebook under Jean How (D. Jean How) if you want to follow along. But Dr Scott Laker was in my own feelings, the best choice I ever had in bariatric surgeon. Always follow through from other doctors that work with you to see what their impression is on the work and professional ethics of another. I would highly recommend this doctor if you are considering bariatric surgery.
Dr. Carlin is an awesome doctor with a wonderful bedsider manner who looks out for his patients best interest and even with him having countless patients everyday you feel like it's only you when he walks through that door and has that smile on his face.
I'm glad I had him as a surgeon who allowed God to watch over him as he operated on me!
I love my Sleeve and I love my surgeon!!!

The first time I met Dr. Genaw I thought he was a blunt person. He did not accept excuses. He told you what he wanted from you and expected you to do so. I loved him. I am the same way, so it was a good fit for me. He is a caring Doctor and has the best sense of humor. He and the staff are wonderful. I never left there wondering about anything. Whatever questions I had they answered to my satisfaction.
