Henry Ford Bariatric Surgery Program Bariatric Center
I met Dr.Jeffery Genaw when I had some minor surgery at the hospital he was at and we were talking and realized he knows my little sister they went to school together, but I liked him right away before I knew the connection. I felt comfortable with him and found him to be very personable. I have not met with him as of yet for my 1st consultation, but his staff seems to be very helpful and genuinely concerned.
I can't say anything negitive as of yet, my 1st appointment is in May.
I just met with Dr. Bell. He was informative and answered all my questions. He wasn't in a hurry. He explained the surgery well.
The only thing I wasn't sure about is he said I will lose weight no matter what I eat. I met with a dietician the day before meeting with him and she advised that to lose the potential weight that I could, I need to still make wise choices.
I think wise choices in eating will is a part of my life and the way Dr. Bell talked was like it doesn't matter.
It turns out that the hospital where Dr. Bell performs the surgery is now reconsidering allowing the surgery to be preformed. They have haulted the surgery until further review. So... I have found Dr. Webber accepts my insurance and will be contacting him on Monday.
I met with Dr. Carlin - I like him - very personable. Shows genuine concern.
My first consulation was on February 14, 2003 with Dr. Genaw. He came to see me with his smile and he shakes my hand with a squeeze. that shows that he is strong, and has confidence and he seems caring. He has a good sense of humor. He seems like a cool and relax doctor and is patient with me and explained clearly everything. After he left and the nurse, Wanda came, she is such a sweetheart and seems very caring and very patient with me when we had a long talk and she planned my surgery date for me. She was the best. I would give her A++++ and his staff was great too. God bless them all! Smile :o)
Ummm...Funny that you would ask that question right off the bat(lol)I wasn't real sure about him at first and I really think the feelings were mutual but I will say after my visit with him I was not left with no stone unturned to the amount of questions that I had and got nothing ,but straight answers. My impression of Dr.Jeff is that I think he thought I wasn't gonna go through with it, but boy did I show him...he was even surprised at how WELL I functioned after the surgery that I was home in 4 days!! His office staff Wanda,Flo I love ya your great ladies I wouldn't trade ya for nothing!! To be honest I think the only time I thought that I might not like Dr.Jeff was when he was leaving the room and turned around and said..OH SORRY we don't do patients with Tattoos. I thought the nerve but it took me a sec to realize that was his sense of humor."AFTERCARE" I believe that the surgery itself is the easy part it's the AFTERCARE that is vitally important because that's the only thing that's gonna make your program work.He was VERY through in explaining the whole procedures and there risks!!! His bedside nmanner and surgical were A+++. Now don't make a liar out of me Dr.Jeff.(lol)Now some of his associate reidents that assist him could learn a lot from him on bedside manner!!! Dr. Jeff's whole motto is that he wants and like to help people like me who have severe weight issues.but YOU have to want to help YOURSELF First!!!!! It is a team effort!!!!
I met Dr. Genaw on 9/28/02 my first consult.
My impessions of Dr.Jeff is that he thoughtful, smart,he listened, thorough and well trained. The staff was curteous and effecient,There was no long delays in seeing the Dr. and once I did start the consult, he talked to me as though I was his only patient that day. Good Aura.
