Dr. Friedman, his entire staff and Baptist Hospital Bariatric nurses are wonderful! He was sure to educate me in every manner (I had lap band) and checked up on me in the hospital several times each day. Everything about him is wonderful and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

1st visit went well. I have managed to jump through all the required 'hoops' except I have to do my nutrition & psych analysis this Thur. The office staff were very helpful and friendly. I look forward to working with them throughout.

Dr. Nye is great! He made me feel right at home from the first visit. He was willing to spend as much time with me as I needed and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. His staff is also great. I have called the office on several different occasions and left messages to be called back but never got the calls returned. A hint: don't tell him you forgot to take your Nexium for a few days or he will read you the riot act! He also got on to me for not calling his office with what I thought was a small problem that I could talk to him about on my next visit. He is very serious that you follow the aftercare plan and wants you to get better and realize your goals. These are my personal impressions of my experience but I would recommend him to anyone!

my first impression of dr friedman was definitly a positive one. he had a great bedside manner and explained the surgery very well. the office staff is very helpful and very positive.

Dr Friedman was super! He answered all of the questions I had(I have been researching this for 6 months so I didnt have a whole lot), explained in depth both lap band and gastric bypass. My husband and I really like him and are very impressed by his knowledge, I hear he was trained by the best, Dr Jeffrey Lord.rnThe office staff is great everyone, especially Emily Shoemaker are so helpful. Judy, his nurse has such a sweet personality and she is so helpful too.rn

My first impression of Dr. Nye was not great. He seemed to rush through our appointments and didn't make me feel like my questions/concerns were valid. But I knew his reputation as a great surgeon and that was what was important to me. Later on though post op I was having some personal problems that were affecting my weight loss and he was wonderful about it. I gained alot of respect for him then.rnrnOverall, a great surgeon... and that is the number 1 thing to me. I wanted to know that I would make it through the surgery, bottom line. Dr. Nye did a great job on my surgery and that made up for everything else.

Wow good looking fella ...his wife is nice as well..very nice polite informative.. I couldnt have asked for a better surgen or team that he has there..when there was a a snag in the road they pulled me through ..Alice is wonderful she is a great asset to there team. and as far as being turned lose to go to the bariatric center well i was happy and sad.. you had to be doing good to get to be released to them I just loved seeign them up in the office you know you get use to seeing a certian person .. but I am so glad that thigns went the way that they have KAREN Bonnie and all of them there are awsoem ppl I can be feelign down and they are there I can be wantign to jump and shout I have made it and poof they will celebrate too.. but rest assure they will keep you on track and on your toes.. you can be like me and run into pitfalls with a divorce and everythign and not be able to get in to them for a long time and they will take you back in like it was yesterday .. they never give up on a person they are all AWSOME I would recommend them to anyone. I LOVE YOU ALL!

I had Lap-Band surgery with Dr. Friedman on Feb. 6th 2008. Every step of the surgery process was wonderful and reassuring. He and his staff guided me through each step from insurance approval to aftercare. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is always willing to answer any questions that you may have. He never made me feel rushed or silly regardless of what questions I had. I have had several surgeries in the past and this has been the best. I had little pain, no complications or infections. I was well informed by him and his staff of after-care procedures so there was no anxiety or confusion during healing. I would definitely recommend Dr. Friedman to anyone who wishes to have Bariatric Surgery.

Dr. Nye is a fantastic doctor! He saved my life and restored my spirit in the process. My first time walking into the doctors office was scary for me. But he and his staff quickly comforted me and my decision to have the surgery. Dr. Nye was extremely honest with his expectations for me and so far all his beliefs have been true. He explained that there are risks to every surgery and that this one was no different. No sugar coatings with him. My overall experience and opinion is this, i was dying in my own body and struggling to maintain normality in my life. Dr. Nye stepped in and helped me regain control. He is a true angel.

My first impression was that he was young and at the time working under Dr. Lord. This told me he was a very sharp young man or Dr. Lord would not be training him. As time went i realized that he was in fact an outstanding Doctor in his own right and a very caring and sincere person. His office staff is wonderful, always there when you need them. Once you are able to get past the phone sys. To be honest i cannot think of a single thing that i did not like about Dr. Friedman. Future patients should know that he will never lie to you or make light of the possible side efforts of the surgery. Aftercare and its roll in the recovery process is at the top of his list of must do's. As far as the risks of the surgey went i do not believe that i have ever been more fully informed about them and as a result had no real worries about the procedure. The least i can say about Dr. Friedman is that i believe that he is the best in the area at what he does. Dr. Lord can be proud of having played a part in his training. There are no areas that Dr. Friedman is not #1 in based on my surgery and aftercare. Of course these are just my impressions based on my own experience and someone else may not have the same results as i have had. Jim Dwyer
