My first impressions Dr. Todd is a very caring doctor. He is very thoural at explainng the precedure with the pros and cons.
My impression about Dr. Todd strengthened with time. He has been a wonderful Dr and always been there to laugh with as well as cry to during the hard times and days.

I have been very happy with Dr. Todds office staff even though he does have a high turn over in the office even with the high turn over Dr. Todd does a great job at screening and hiring the best office staff available.

I dont really have that much negative to say about Dr. Todd. The only thing maybe negative that I would have to say is he needs more aftercare in his office for issiues that may arise. I know that this is the patients resposiblity but maybe an onsite counselor or onsite diatician would be useful.

I would tell new patients that if they have done there research and ready emotially and physically to have there gastirc bypass they should go for it and Dr. Todd would be a great surgeon to perform there surgery.

Dr. Todd has support group for before and after care for his patient but I think he does need a more structured program for issues that may arrise for things such as old eating habits, stress, and depression.

Dr. Todd does not sugar coat the risks of this surgery. He will go over the the risks and complications during the meet the Dr support group as well as during in is consulation session.

I would give Dr. Todd a 10 for his overall care, manners, and him as an overall Dr. in general.

My first impression of Dr. Todd was that he is an amazingly spritual, loving, careing person, who deeply cares for well being of his patients, pre op and post op. Now that I have known Dr Todd for 19 months, my impression of him is still the same. I adore him, and look forward to seeing him at Support Group Meetings every now and then, and when I visit his office. His office staff is phenominal, the best you could ask for. Everyone is so friendly and supportive, and always there for all thier patients before, during and after business hours.Him and his office staff are the greatest. Future patients should know that Dr. Todd has a wonderful, very structured after care program and support system and when he tells you in your orientation that once he is your surgeon you and him are glued to the hips, he means it. Even if you live away from Anchorage, Dr. Todd and his staff will do whatever it takes to help you in whatever you need help with. He is honest and up front with the posatives and negatives of the surgery, he doesn't sugar coat anything. My overall rateing of Dr. Todd and his staff is that they are the best surgical team anyone could ask for, and I feel very honored and blessed and fortunate to be a patient and friend to everyone in the office. Dr. Todd's surgical competance and bedside manner are both equally awesome. If I had to do the surgery over again, I would definately choose Dr. Todd as my surgeon and I would reccomend him to anyone, weather they live in Alaska or out of state, it worth it to come to Anchorage to have Dr. Todd as your surgeon.

My first impression was very favorable. Over time I just felt more and more comfortable with my decision to have him as my surgeon. His office staff is GREAT, very friendly and helpful! Aftercare is a definite priority with him. He definitely went over the risks of surgery. Overall I would rate him the BEST!

Dr. Todd is an extremely compassionate man. Truly concerned with "you" as a person. I only grow to like him more and more. He is extremely caring and thorough. His office is the same. They make you feel like friends instead of patients. They have a very active and structured after-care program with support group meetings held weekly. They require you to attend at least 2 support group meetings prior to surgery. Dr. Todd, his associates and staff are just awesome. Although he started out doing RNY he also includes the LapBand now and is favorable to both. Just an awesome group. I have not had surgery yet so can't judge this aspect yet.

I'm crazy about Dr Todd and his whole crew at the office. They all do such a fantastic job at making people feel important and special. One of the things that first impressed me about Dr. Todd was that he takes the time to post on his message board and he replies to as many people as he can. I love that. It adds such a personal touch. If you are within arms length of him he will have an arm around you. He is the kind of person that I enjoy being around. Besides being a great doctor, he is a great person. I also love that he prays outloud and isn't worried what other think of it. I think he works closely with God and what better hands could you be in for your surgery than with the two of them working together. I couldn't ask for a better person to do my surgery!

I was very impressed with Dr. Todd and his staff. They were very supportive of myself and family. My husband has attended all of the support group meetings and have felt welcome at each one of them. I have been attending university classes and my surgery was scheduled over Christmas break, so that I would be able to have plenty of time to recup. Dr. Todd came back from his Christmas vacation to assist Dr. Searles with my lap surgery and then went back on vacation. This really was above and beyond the call of duty. I have had wonderful care.

I have tried everything to lose weight and I wanted a guarantee. Well, I have seen it and now I am living the experience. I feel fortunate that this man has a tender christian heart. He understands the emotional pain we are going thru before and after surgery. I believe that is why he started having so many requirements.. He wants his patients safe and protected and connected with resources to whatever type of help they need.. Of course the other part is the insurance company battles.

I am a shopper I compaired him to the national average and other surgeons and I found Dr. Todd to be safer than most. I knew I didn't have much choice on who would do my surgery because of the insurance company and I believe God has blessed us with this man. So, Pray for him. I do everytime I think of him.

I was a little (a lot) scared going into the hospital.. See I haven't even had a child so this was my first trip as a patient and I AM A NURSE. Understand my fear, OK? But I feel I had the best nurses, so I feel sorry for the other people because the best were taking care of me..No really, they treated me so well and were sensative to my embarasements. I would like to complement Dr. Todd on how well my hospital care was arranged. Like clock work, I had physical therapy, respiratory therapy all working together with my care. My care was so organized I was impressed and trust me.. that is saying alot. I received attention... In the hospital, I have heard such horror stories and I feel blessed I didn't experience a one. I didn't even have to be stuck to have my blood drawn. I personally didn't take to well to the morophine.. so it was no problem starting me on the liquid medication.

Ok.. Now for some opportunities for improvement. Dr. Todd's office staff are nice but most of the faces keep changing and I realize that may not be within his control but its hard to connect with a new face everytime. An organized aftercare program would be wonderful: I have some ideas. There was a year in between my surgery and the prep-work so things have changed a bit and I think I missed out on some changes and education.

OVERALL: I love the man.. I believe he has saved me life and I will always be greatful. As well as, I thank God for him and his commitment. I personally felt so trapped in my body, I feel I have been set free.. Thank you Lord.. Blessings

Dr. Todd is a very caring surgeon and individual. He explained the procedure he uses in sufficient detail to give me much to think about and was willing to answer any questions I had.

What I remembered most during the introduction and exploration presentation was that we (he and his staff and those of us as patients) would be "joined at the hip" - he wanted to continue knowing what we were going through. He would also be available to answer any questions our primary physicians may have about the surgery and to share his knowledge and experiences about giving us care that were unique.

The hardest part for me was to remember he is only one person who has many patients and putting that into perspective. I have learned much through the support system he and his staff have put into place.
