Hi Kirk! Wow!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your story, progress and photos here! How wonderful you have done, and I can only hope to be as successful with the surgery as you have been! I saw your question in the message boards about what programs are available to those who are super MO and aren't able to have the surgery due to health reasons. I am not sure if this is something your friend might be interested in or not, but Health Management Resources offers classes in many major hospital settings whereby the person is on a liquid fast, attends weekly group sessions, is followed by a doctor weekly with blood work every 2 weeks, and is followed by a nutritionist weekly. I'd lost 125 lbs in about 8 months time through the program in the past (although I did gain the weight back). More information can be learned at "HMR's" website: www.hmrprogram.com . My only complaint about the HMR program is that it IS a diet and therefore is easy to regain the weight back (although not all do), and the program focuses on those with lots less to lose (although there are a few super MO people in the program). On a positive side, the program has a weekly maintenance program as well, so this will help the person maintain whatever weight is lost assuming the person attends the meetings. Crow, I am posting to your surgery page to thank you sooo much for the support you have shown me and others in the 3 years you 've been a member. I remember when you had your surgery it was pretty much touch and go with you, but you were the one that reached out and pulled me from my little bitty dark corner of dispair. I will ALWAYS LOVE YOU FOR THAT! Congrats on your continued sucess!
