hiya everybody. jeremy is still hanging in there. his white blood count is 19,000... which could be better, but all of his other numbers are looking a bit better. his vent was on 8 and is now on 5. his heart rate is still high, but they do not seemed concerned about it. this weekend dr. muscarella decided he could start eating a little. he tried a few bites of jello and everything was fine... then he had some water and threw up... the same thing happened again. so today we gave him some jello and later gave him some milk. so far so good. they seem to think that it is "columbus" water that he can't tolerate... so next time they'll try sterile water. he wasn't complaining of nausea when i left. so hopefully that will work out, but he is still being fed through the "tpn". the nurse last night said his bed sores are getting worse, but there is nothing they can do about it until he can start standing... which will be a long time from now. until then they are still putting special creams on it. his temp has been okay... we are mainly concerned about infections and the white count. i would like to thank two people: Douglas Champion and Sarah Margaret. Douglas... I sent you a thank you card, but it came back to me that your street did not exist... so thank you very much for your generous gift :-) Sarah, you left Jeremy and I gifts in his room last week... the nurse said you are a staff member, but we can't find you. Please, if you work at OSU or live close by, visit Jeremy during visiting hours so we may meet and thank you. :-) Thank you again to all of you for your cards, gifts, and prayers. Yet again, anyone who would like to visit Jeremy may do so and any cards may be sent to our house in Martins Ferry. Thank you all very much... I'll keep you posted.
love,
Robbi
