I'm continueing to pray for a complete recovery soon. And Roberta as he has those pressure soresthey should provide him with a special bed.I know that at the facility that I work at anyone with any type of wound like that is immediately put in a therapeutic bed to help prevent the formation of any more wounds or worsening of the ones that they have. Please ask the about putting him back in a bed like the one he was in.Lot's of love and prayers headed his way for recovey and the same headed your way for strenght and encouragement.

I haven't been on the message board in a while and was wondering how you are doing. Glad to know there is steady improvement. God bless you and your family. I'm sure this has been exhausting for everyone. May it bring you comfort to know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many.

Hi Robbi...Thanks for the update. I do hope that Jeremy continues to improve and that he has the worst behind him. I pray he is able to beat those bedsores and can go home sooner rather than later. Big hugs to you, Jeremy and your families.

Hi Robbi and Jeremy...thank you so much, Robbi, for your informative and frequent updates on Jeremy. As you know, every single member on this site is rooting for his swift and complete recovery. When my dad was in the hospital with a terrible infection on his leg (not the same as Jeremy's...something totally different), he was in this sort of "rocker" or cradle thing that moved him side to side to take the pressure off his body so that he didn't lay too long in one spot. I would definitely ask for this for Jeremy too. I don't know if this is what he had before in ICU (my dad was in ICU as well), but I'm sure they can get a different bed for Jeremy with the rocker mechanism on it. Just ask and be persistent. I'm know it is probably torturous for Jeremy to be moved manually. The automatic method just seems so much more gentle, and it's programmed probably on a timer, so you're not waiting on humans to respond. Love and hugs, Joy xo

hiya everybody! jeremy is doing very well. they took the line out of his neck yesterday and since then his temperature has been under 99. :) they had to change his catheder today, which was very painful, but needed to be done before a bacteria started. i can barely get him to eat or drink and his proteins aren't doing good because of it. i had him intaking around 150 proteins per day and now i'm lucky to get in 40. :( he is taking all of his medications by mouth (which is a Ton of pills throughout the day) and i think he is getting too filled with them and then has no appetite. physical and occupational therapy started with him today and he did very well. a speach therapist wants to stop by soon and get him to start talking :) the new bed jeremy has doesn't move him side to side to turn him, so he has to be manually turned every hour, which is Horrible pain for his legs and feet, but he Has to do it. they are Very concerned for his bedsores. he has had them for two months now and they are getting worse (and he getting a lot more skin breakdown all over his body). they are afraid that the bed sores started at the bone and worked it's way to the surface and if it did, then there will be a Huge hole there. they are starting a chemical which will debreed the dead skin off a little at a time. the nurse kind of scared me yesterday. he said if it gets infected, jeremy could very well die. so i stress to jeremy Very often how important it is for him to stay on his side. unfortnately no pain meds are helping. anyway, everything else is great. this is a great valentines day:) love, robbi ps: room telephone number is: 614-293-1200
