the past few days jeremy hasn't been doing too well. they said he has a blood infection and they are suctioning a lot of thick brown gunk out of his lungs. he is now getting antibiotics that he started last night for the blood infections and they seem pretty confident that is will work. he has been running a fever of 102 for almost a week straight. i saw his bed sores yesterday and they didn't impress me too well. everything he has been eating, he has been throwing back up and his white blood count went up to 24,000. now, yesterday muscarella did an endoscopy and found that there is a little ulcer in jeremy's tummy and they started some pills for that today. he still didn't take out the dead-end feeding tube sticking out of his abdomen, though. he also gave jeremy an ng tube to help feed him very nutritional stuff. they said that is why his sores aren't healing very well, because he has no nutrients in his system. so he will have the tube for 2-3 weeks. he can also eat, though, if he wants to. i think this is for the best. now, for the great news. yesterday, jeremy sat up on the edge of the bed for the first time! he lasted 15 whole minutes without heart or breathing problems :) i could see he was in pain, but he didn't complain or cry. it was so nice to see him that way and he looked wonderful, too. they will try again tomorrow and see if he can last even longer :) i'm so happy. now, today jeremy looks really good, even though he still has the fever and stuff, but he is awake and conversing. :0) i love him so much. i even got him to laugh a few times. it's so nice to see him smile a little bit. at night we have to keep his hands restrained, because he pulled out the last ng tube he had about 2 months ago. but, all is good now and i think we are on the right track. they told us yesterday to maybe look forward to being home by memorial day, instead of easter. thanks for the prayers :) love, robbi

I wasn't able to have my surgery 12/28 because they found something but that's been fixed and now I'm having it March 3rd and reading about Jeremy's progress just makes me excited all over again! I know he's gonna keep getting better and better! I'm so excited for him :)

Robbi and Jeremy, You continue to show me what perserverance and love is all about. Keep up the incredible work at healing, Jeremy, the art world needs you. And...it would make a killer character and story. So heal up, get drawing, and continue to blow us away.

hiya everybody. jeremy got weighed again today and he is now 613pounds! he has lost a total of 185pounds! :) yay! his fever is still gone and his heart rate is in the 70's! he is still on cpap, but they are starting to turn it down slowly while he is sleeping. as for his bed sores: the one is big and black, so last night they cut out the black dead area, cleaned it out, and today they put a wound vac on it. it wasn't quite as deep as they thought it was going to be, so that is good. the other little one across from it is much deeper. there is yet another one that is long and at his tail bone (they said if it goes down to his spine, he could get paralysis). they are suppose to put wound vacs on each of them later tonight. his tummy looks good. he is still not eating though and i don't really know what to do about it. today so far he has had absolutely nothing. as for his bed, the only choice we have is to manually turn him. he had a bed that turned side to side, but it was too wide for the doorway (because this unit has standard size doorways). this bed comes with an extra mattress to put under him that blows up to help turn him, but by the time it all comes together, he would be turned and "comfortable". so, we all decided to stick with the nurses. he will be fine. the sooner his backside heals, the sooner he can go home. :) everything is coming together. i tried to visit georgeanne yesterday, but they had discharged her the other day and said she is at an assisted living place somewhere now. so she must be doing very well. that is all for now. :) love, robbi dad says, "thanks for all your support" 8^)
