~J~ Hey! Jeremy bustin' in here real quick with a bit of good news. :) Last night (Friday) the doctor's office was supposed to call Dovie and give her a surgery date... and they didn't! So she was a bit disappointed. Well, this morning (Saturday) she gets a call from them with her surgery date! We found out Dovie's surgery is going to be on June 13th. Last night she seemed a bit disappointed that they hadn't called...but today she seems to have forgotten about that totally. ~J~

Hi Dovie, Thanks for the great email. I am so looking forward to you having surgery. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me. You will be so amazed at the results...not only in your weight...but your feeling of well being. I am starting to get double takes, which is fun. I read your bio and like you I felt so out of control. Food had control of me so bad. I gained 14 pounds from the time I first had my doctors appointmnet until one week before surgery. WAY out of control. Please, please let me know when your surgery is going to be...I want to keep track of you and your progress. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Hi Dovie! Thanks for the info to my posts. I called my ob-gyn, they don't have an opening until June 22nd. I was hoping to get some before that but wouldn't let me have them til they see me 1st. But today the flashes don/t seem to be as intense. Maybe the isoflavones are kicking in. I HOPE SO! Anyways, keep up with the posts. I read all of them from you. So know (I'm always lurking!) lol thanks again! Big hug and a warm fuzzy to you!

Dovie... You may already know this, but once you've got a surgery date, make sure that you don't take ANY ASPIRIN FOR 2 WEEKS prior to surgery! I didn't know that at all -- and had, in fact, taken one about a week prior -- but read this valuable information in the hospital that they gave me as a POST-OP. (Big help then, eh? And they didn't even ask me if I'd taken any aspirin recently.) Not sure why that is, but it might be worth checking into. Also, from your family history, it sounds as though the filter is a good way to go. My doctor really kept on top of the blood clot possibility, and had my legs in these compressor thingies (to use the medical term ;-) for about 24 hours after surgery, and then I got blood thinner shots 3x/day for the remaining 4 days of my stay. Good to know that those options are out there to decrease the odds of blood clots. MUCH luck to you!

Dovie - I can understand you being scared. Please make sure your doctor knows about your family history. I read on the board about a filter for blood clots. I sent the info to my mother for her to look into (she is contemplating surgery). Take care. Wendy
