Stacie!?! My Goodness! Just another hoop to jump through, eh? Hang in there, girlfriend. Remember, good things come to those who wait. And with the experience you're gaining right now, you'll be able to help someone like me (a pre-op) with the truths about this procedure. I'll be thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery. Godspeed!

Hello All:) This is another Good News, Bad News Angel Report...The Bad News: I am sorry to have to report that Stacie is back in the hospital and will remain there for the next 2 weeks. The drainage that she was experiencing was from a massive infection. When Stacie went for her 1st check-up Dr. Veninga had to take her in for emergency surgery. Stacie will have to undergo at least 3 more surgeries to excise infected tissue before she gets to go home. Stacie has been told there will be surgery again Thursday, Saturday and again on Monday. Dr. Veninga has said that because of the infection and subsequent surgeries, Stacie's wound will have to be packed open for healing. We have all heard how rough that is to deal with during recovery. Stacie has also been told that due to the amount of tissue being removed that she will develope a hernia. In 6 months she will have to undergo another surgery to have that repaired, but the Good News is that she can have a "tummy tuck" done at the same time. The other Good News, is that she has lost 56# since her origional surgery. Stacie is taking all this in stride, but we all know that it's an additional strain on her and her family. She is currently in Rm# 458, but will be moving to a different room later today. She will be happy to hear from anyone that chooses to call. The main Ph# at the hospital is 972-981-8000. When I talked to her earlier, she sounded tired but was talkative and family was there with her. Please send an Extra Prayer her way and take a minute to post an encouraging word to help her get through this ordeal. Sending Warm Healing Skinny Thoughts to ALl:) ttfn

Hello All:) I have been a bit remiss in reporting that Stacie has been home from the hospital since last Monday night. However, she is not at home, but staying with her Mother-in-Law for the first couple of weeks recovery. Her Mother-in-Law was going to email me questions, she also had my phone number. I kept waiting for her to call or email me, but I had not heard from her. I finally called Stacie's home number and left a message on her answering machine. Well, Stacie called me back & we had a nice long chat. She is having some drainage from her incision, but only in one small spot. There is alot of drainage but the incision has not come open. She is having to deal with alot of pain when she moves around, but is ok when she is just sitting still. Because of all this, she is dealing with the "WHY did I do this to myself?" syndrome. She has an appt to see Dr. Veninga Tuesday for her first week check-up. Please send Stacie some encouraging words as we all know how much they can help to deal with post-op difficulties:) Sending Warm Healing Skinny Thoughts to All:) ttfn

Good Evening All:) Well I spent several hours with Stacie this afternoon. At first she was not feeling too good, she had not had any pain meds since about 6am. She has been having continuous problems with the IV since getting out of ICU on friday. At last count they had re-established the IV 17 times. Lets all hope that this time will be the last time. Once they were able to find a viable vein and she was able to Push that little button, Stacie began feeling MUCH Better:) Stacie was able to walk almost half way around the floor. Her DH Matt following behind with the wheelchair so she could rest when necessary. Me, I followed on my little red Amigo. Don't you just Love parade:) Parade, that's 2 physical therapists, one patient, one IV Pole with Morphine pump, one concerned & Loving Husband with wheelchair, & one Angel on a red Amigo:) I think that qualifies as a Parade:) When I left Stacie was feeling much better and was in much better spirits. It is possible that she will be released tomorrow, we are hoping that nothing will prevent that:) Please remember Stacie in your prayers, especially that she has no more problems with her IV:) Sending Warm Healing Skinny Thoughts to All:) ttfn

Hello All:) Good News:) Stacie is finally in her own room, RM#465. She was just getting up for a stroll around the halls so I could not talk to her yet, but soon:) I'll check with Stacie & see if she wants me to post the Ph# to her room. I hope everyone has a Great weekend:) Sending Warm Healing Skinny Thoughts to all:) ttfn

Good Evening all:) Well I talked to Dr. Veninga & he said that Stacie is doing Just Fine:) He had released her to be moved to a "Regular" room but I think that the Hospital is just a bit too popular right now. Kind of like a Hotel on the beach in Florida during Spring Break:) You may have a reservation for a room, but if the occupant does not Vacate, You're stuck waiting til they leave:) We all know that Stacie is getting Excellent care and Lots of attention in ICU, but I am hoping that she's in her own room tomorrow so that I can go visit:) Sending Warm Healing Skinny Thoughts to All:) ttfn

Hello All:) Sorry to say that Stacie is still stuck in ICU. I did call Matt at home last night and got a recorded message that Stacie was fine & that they hoped to have her in a Regular room somtime today. As of 2:30pm she was still in ICU. But I will find out more details tonight as I'll get the info from Dr. Veninga directly. He is having his 2nd Informational/Support Meeting tonight in the bldg next to the hospital. I'll post more info after my talk with the Doc:) Keep those Good Wishes & Prayers comming:) Sending Warm Healing Skinny Thoughts to All:)ttfn
