Sarah, Your little WOW is a big thing. I remember that feeling oh too well. It feels great to be able to sit behind the car steering wheel and not have it rub anymore. Keep up the great job!!!!

It's back! Woke up this morning with tenderness in my left leg. So off to the doctor I go to get some antibiotics for my cellulitis. I'm 6 weeks post-op today and had big plans to go swimming and lift some heavy stuff:) The only bright side of the day was the nurse weighed me and I was 410lbs. I'm not using this as an official weight though, since it was on a normal scale with that little add-on weight, so who knows how accurate it is....but I like it:) I've also had a running nose, sore throat and been sneezing a lot, doctor thinks it might be allergies....I never had any before surgery...anyone else develop seasonal allergies after surgery?

Hi Sarah! What a beautiful message about your sister, Cheryl, on her birthday (May 17). I think it would be a great tribute to her for you to live a happy, healthy life, on behalf of both of you. May her spirit live on through you always! {{{Hugs}}} and good luck to you.

Well today is my one month anniversary and I really don't have anything more to report from the 1st. I'm only using the weights from my surgeons office, so I won't have a new one until the 12th of June. The bottom of my incision had a weird bump when I lay down. My physical therapist said it might be a sponge! She was just kidding...said it's probably just pooled blood and she is going to massage it to see if it gets better. It's not painful. I can't wait to be able to go swimming! Only 1 1/2 more weeks and I can!

Sarah, GIRL TOOT your horn!! A hundred pounds down is a 100 pounds. IT was hard work to lose that before surgery so count each and every ounce that you have lost. Be proud, be brave and keep on losing!! KimmieTN@goal

Today was my first post-op visit with Dr. Cook. I've lost 30lbs. I then saw the nutritionist and was moved to the next diet stage...I can have crackers and try pasta! I got my staples out and didn't even need steri-strips, the incision seems completely healed. My protein intake was good for now but I need to increase it, I also need to drink more fluids. We then went to eat at Bob Evans and as soon as the waitress brought out my food I asked for a take-out container and only left very small portions on my plate. This takes away the temptaion to eat more than I should, and yet I can still clean my plate:)

Well today was my first big test. The student organization that I help advise at college had a retreat and I felt well enought to go. I was gone for 9 hours. I took meals with me in tiny containers. Not only was it a physical test to see if I could handle being out so long but it was also a huge test of my ability to say no to food. They had pop, chips, dip, hot dogs from the grill, pasta salad, and bags of chocolate candy. Yikes!!! But I made it with my pureed food and vanilla pudding without feeling like an outcast. These students won't recognize me when they come back next fall:)
