Your surgery date will be here before you know it! Just remember to do everything the Dr. tells you and you'll find recovery will be a little easier. Good luck! ~Jenna

Congratulations on your surgery date! I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. --- May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will have ups and downs. You can always turn to us, your AMOS family, we will give support, comfort and encouragement. You will find this will be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that was true for me. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly. We all like to see how we are doing!!! Make sure you take pictures. It’s great to see the new you emerge!!! Not to mention the look on YOUR face when you look at those pictures and compare them in a few months! It’ll be a BIG WOW!!! Please remember too, that this is a *tool* to use. Make sure you use it wisely. The first year it’s pretty easy, after that I’ve been hearing (I’m not speaking from experience as I’m not a year out yet) that it gets increasingly difficult. Choose the right foods and measurements wisely! Good luck and God Bless!!! RNY 10/31/03 257/133 I’M AT GOAL!!! Monica, Congratulations on your date! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Keep coming back to the Over 50 board... we're there for support at any point along the way. This is a great journey and I can't wait to share it with you!

Oh Monica, I can tell from your post on over 50 forum how much you need this surgery. I'm going to pray especially for you that you may have the surgery, have little if any problems and feel better. Prayer works better when we put our effort behind it and you are doing that.

Hi Monica I am rather new to this site too. Wecome!! We have a few things in common. First, my husband and I also like to fish. We mainly fish for redfish, drum, and occasionally bass. I have a problem with anesthesia, which greatly concerns my husband and our second son who is an ER nurse. I have three grown children and two beautiful grandsons 2 1/2 years and 11 months. I don't have a surgery date yet, but have pre-op testing July 9, and endocrinologist appointment Aug. 4. Just wanted to welcome you aboard. I figured it's the least I could do to show my appreciation for the great welcome I received last week when I joined. (I had five messages within the first three hours of joining.) Best of luck, and I'll say a prayer for you.
