Sara Hoffman Marchese, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, within the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Hoffman Marchese is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Behavioral Medicine for Digestive Health program housed in the Digestive Health Center at Northwestern Medicine.

 Dr. Hoffman Marchese provides pre-surgical psychological evaluations for patients pursuing bariatric surgery, and works with patients seeking surgical and non-surgical weight management to support them in making healthy lifestyle changes. She also provides psychological interventions for patients diagnosed with organic GI disease (e.g., Crohn’s Disease) and disorders of brain-gut interaction (e.g., Irritable Bowel Syndrome).
