Moein Surgical Arts Plastic Surgery Center
I first thought that Dr.Mo was a bit cold and rigid.I found over time that he wanted to make sure I understood the serious nature of the decision I was about to make and what would be required of me if I went foward. He seems to really care about his work, patients, and the life changing impact it can have on their lives and wants us to experience that.I had gastric bypass surgery in April 2010 and have lost about 140 lbs.to date. All of the staff in the bariatric dept.of Greater Baltimore Medical Center was friendly, professional, and put you at ease. They have a structured aftercare program and you are encouraged to join a post surgery support group. The dept.has been given an award as the Bariatric Society's Center of Excellence Award many times.I would highly recommend Dr. Mo and G.B.M.C. for weight loss surgery or to answer questions .

I started my journey in January of 2011. I went to see my Regular doctor and after reading an article on GERD saying that RNY could heal this....I was AMAZED!!! So of course I took the article with and she read it and, she said I think you could benefit from this. I am 100 lbs. overwieght, but it is hard to tell because I am tall. I saw Dr. Moein in March.......LOVED him from the first time I met him. He and his office are awesome and will answer any questions you might have. He has a GREAT bedside manor and really listens to you. I had my surgery August 17, 2011, so I am home healing. I have no pain other then gas!! He would get my VOTE every time!!!!! I think he is the BEST!
My first impression of Dr. Moein and continues to be my impression is that his bedside manner is a little standoffish but he is very professional and will answer any and all your questions. His office staff is wonderful. They too will answer all your questions and are great about calling back when you leave messages. He is direct and too the point all business no small talk. Maybe that is what I am seeing as the standoffish personality as I am kind of a joking person and like that quality in a doc too. However, with that said as long as he is good at his profession I can live with that quality he has, and he is very good surgeon. I would recommend him or this program. It is very well rounded and addresses all facets of the journey. They do suggest following their policies and not go by what others tell you. If you do that you will be successful. I have been going to group and individual therapy and he was very pleased to see that as he fully believes that is a necessary side of this process. When he sees that you are following the rules he seems to soften up. My husband also was a patient of his and he is very happy with Dr. Moein as well. They offer monthly support groups that have no charge however if you want to meet with the nutritionist beyond 3 months out there is a small fee. I would suggest doing your research before selecting your surgeon/surgery but I would highly recommend the COMP (Comprehensive Obesity Management Program) at GBMC!
I was very shocked to see all the positive feedback on doctor M. In the beginning he really had me fooled that he cared about my needs and that he would be there through the process. In the end he turned out to be on of the worst doctors I have ever dealt with. He was very unprofessional the day of the surgery and very arrogant. He was not concerned at all about any of my needs and failed to document the correct information in his files. Even though that information was not documented in his files the staff at GBMC tried to fix the situation and keep everything moving but the doctor was more focused on that people he felt that people were trying to say he was a liar because it wasn't documented. It was a simple miscommunication that was in the process of being fixed but he instead of working through this he got a very unprofessional attitude stomped out of the room, disapeared then came back and cancelled the surgery after the GBMC staff had already rectified the issue. Absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't recomend him to anyone.

I first met Dr. Moeinolmolki at the information seminar that is required before you can make your first appointment. From that moment I knew this was the DR I wanted to do my surgery. He was a no BS kind of guy and I absolutely love that about him. He doesn't sugar coat things and he gives it to you straight up and simple. He tells you exactly what he wants from you and he wants you to be truthful when you tell him if you are gonna do it.
The 6 months it took me during the pre - surgical appointments felt like it took forever but every month I met the guys there at the office and although there was one person that seemed to be kinda icky all the time (don't worry she no longer works there) everyone there was AWESOME. I love Kate my Nurse Practictioner. I love Rebecca my Dietician. I love Nick the adorable male nurse that always was there with a smile. I loved the whole crew there and Dr. Moein was the icing on the cake.
One thing I can say about Dr. Moein is he does not play. If you are not serious about your journey then he is not the doctor for you. He does everything to make you succeed and as long as you listen to him then you will go above and beyond where you want to go. He makes absolutely sure you know what you need to know in every single manner. He will never leave you in the dark in any way what so ever. When he sits down with you and talks to you about anything he speaks to you like a respected individual, not like a child, but he makes absolutely sure you understand everything he is saying as it is very important.
My husband was a very big part of my surgical journey and as a nurse he had alot of questions in regards to the whole proceedure. I was thrilled when Dr. Moein actually sat down with my husband and spoke to him personally in regards to the real time issues and future problems versus the benefits of the surgery I was having. He told us the truth and held nothing back. When I made my decision it was b/c I knew everything option and everthing that could possibly happen.
I just saw Dr. Moein for my 1 year follow up and he called me on my goof really fast. I'd made a bad mistake and he pulled me right in about it. I respect him greatly for this b/c it's something that in future years could cost me serious injury and it is easy to fix now versus later.
I would refer any one that wants a great DR with great knowledge. Dr. Moein will help you in every way he can, but be warned, you really do have to learn how to re-live again and not even Dr. Moein can help you prepare for that.

Dr Moeinolmolki is absolutely great! He has been there for me every step of the way. He's professional and caring. At first, I thought he was a little standoffish but that changed after my 2nd visit. His office staff members are wonderful. Very attentive to my needs and very qualified to answer all of my questions. His bedside manner and surgical competence are both outstanding. Overall, I'd give him 10 out of 5 stars.
My first impression of doctor Mo was that he seemed very warm and sharpley dressed. That is exactley what he was and the staff was just as warm and caring. I liked every thing about Dr. Mo and the Comprehensive Obesity Management team. If your going to go to the gbmc comp program as a patient you need to know to relax you are in good hands . I'm just starting my follow up appointments but so far with my sleeve it's a monthly visit they want to continue to mark your progress without it being inconvenient as well as make sure you go to support groups. What I liked about his address about my surgery risk was it was personal only after we had our first meeting and he got an overall idea of my personal health picture did we get into all of my risks and benefits. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give him a 12. As far as which is better surgical competence or bedside manner I'd have to say both r extremely important. After all the bedside manner gets you in the bed and the surgical competence gets you out! Amen ?!

My Surgeon is AMAZING!!!! If you are in the MD area, and are looking for a surgeon, PLEASE PLEASE attend a GBMC info session. You will find that Dr. Moe is VERY knowledgeable about what he does (and isn't that what you want). He IS a "no nonsense" kinda guy, afterall, this is a no nonesense situation though... He wants the best for you and will push you until you yeild the best results. He's a very SHARP dresser too (lol)!! Seriously though, if you are serious about turning your life around, then try Dr. Moe, he makes you want to do better and be better!!!
Dr. moeinolmolki is quiet and very respectful when you first meet hiim. Always professional but it put me at ease. Over the months he truely seems to take interest in what I thought and how I was feeling. His office staff was very clear during the six months prior to surgery of what to expect and did not pressure me to make a decision right away as to the lapband or bypass. I was given helpful ideas of how to eat and exercise. Always asked what I was doing to as exercise and how my eating habits were after the surgery. There is an aftercare program but since my sister-in-law had the surgery also I didn't need the program we helped each other. In my opinion he is one of the very best and I would recommend him to anyone thinking about gastric bypass.
