Dr.Murr is a very busy man...he is always running somewhere..He is very informative very straight forward was up front about all the risk involved ...His staff is the best..if you have any questions or problems they are always on call for you..the entire staff at TGH was wonderful..they were expirenced with gastric bypass patients and were very kind and understanding with me.I could not have ask for better care...only complaint I have is that the transport staff could speed it up a bit...I had to wait 45 mins for them to come back for me after I got a test done then the day i was released they never showed up to take me down to my waiting hubby we waited for 2 hours...my poor nurse had to do it..(thanks Christy)
But over all my stay there was great everyone was very pleasant!!
Thank you to Dr. Murr And Dr. Jose'!!!
You are the best!!!

My husband and I attended the Wish Center Paitent Seminar in October. I was impressed with Dr. Dietrick's calm manner and warm presentation. I feel confident in his abilities. The marketing coordinator, Denise Shreaves, is so kind and so helpful. She has had WLS so is a great source of information.

My current insurance, Blue Cross Blue Care (an HMO) does not provide out-of-network coverage so I am changing my insurance to United Health Options PPO as of January 1, 2004. I have an appointment with the Wish Center team on January 7.

The Wish Center has an outstanding program. There is a lot you must do to prepare for the surgery and to get used to what your diet will be after surgery. Goals are set and must be obtained to get a surgery date.

Risks are outlined in great detail and each professional takes the time to be sure your questions and concerns are answered.

My surgery date has been set for March 16 at 7:00 a.m.

My first impression was he "is a cutie", I sure hope he is a good doctor to!!! He explained everything to me and answered any questions that I had. It was nice to have a doctor explain to you in such a way that you understood everything he told you. The people in the office were so nice. He made sure that this was a decision that I wanted. He explained about the aftercare, and the way my life would change.. It was up to me afterwards to make it work.. He told me that I could die, and I appreciated that. Some things don't need to be sugar coated, you need the plain cold facts. I would recommend him to anyone that is thinking about the procedure. I especially like the support group and support that you have to go through for him to preform the surgery..

I was aware of Dr. Murr's direct and businesslike approach from other comments I have read, so I was not surprised to receive the same. However, as I also expect to receive excellent and considerable care when I have my own surgery, just as I have read of others' experiences, I have no problem with that! He appears to be very thorough and I look forward to working with him. His staff seemed very pleasant as well. I did not get to meet Martha, Dr. Murr's bariatric coordinator, at the time of my consult as she was out on leave--but I have since needed her assistance regarding my insurance approval and she was very helpful in explaining the details of that particular process to me.

Dr. Murr is a soft-spoken man; very dignified and seems pretty nice. He was thorough in his explanations of what I can expect before, during, and after surgery, and answered all of my questions. I only met him once so far, and I'll fill you in on what I think of him as time goes on... His support staff were by and large, very helpful. He had one nursing assistant that I could have lived without, but overall, they were respectful and kind. He does have a wonderful pre-op group of people who are all working together to assure the positive resolution of our weight loss endevour. There is a nutritionist who sees potential patients before surgery, while you're in recovery in the hospital, and frequently after WLS. The psychologist will see you before you are approved for surgery, and after if you have any concerns. There are support groups for pre and post of patients and their families; overall, the program that Dr. Murr is a part of will certainly help us all to be successful in our weight loss efforts. The aftercare program is as thorough as the pre-op care. We're given a plethora of nutritional information, and information on what to expect during and after surgery, and we are encouraged to call the surgeon's nurse with any questions. Once I get my date for surgery, I'll be glad to give you more information.

I really have liked working with Dr. Dietrick because he is honest & not fazed at all by any question I have asked, even when the honest response is "I really don't know - we will have to see." I really appreciate the emphasis on aftercare. I think he was very honest & upfront about risks. I think his bedside manner was actually excellent, some surgeons I've worked with have been very cold, he is not, he makes me feel like he truly cares. Whe I called the center on saturday am, I had a response within 10 mins. WoW!
