University Medical Center Hospital
This was a 1st class hospital, however one week before my surgery we drove 300 miles so I could do all the pre surgery items ie, bloodwork, xrays and ultrasound. This took forever and I was almost last for my Dr. appt. I had a letter from the Dr. stating what I needed done first and when I told the person at the admitting desk that I needed to speak to a specific person he said "it's ok we will take care of you" I later found out that I had missed my 8:00 appt. the above mentioned specific person was to have taken me there. This caused a great deal of confusion. I wish now that the person who did my admitting would have listened to me better. I would still go back to UMC if I lived in Lubbock.
I loved the staff, each person I came into contact with was great. I felt like everyone really cared about me and how I felt. I really loved my nurses and tech on the floor that I was on. They were probably about my age if not a little younger (which is young) but they called me honey, sweetheart, and I really liked that. They made my stay a lot better. And they always checked up on me no matter what I needed help with they would help me out. I couldn't thank the hospital staff enough.
