Every person that I met from Registration, Endo, Day Surgery, OR, etc... where absolutely wonderful and couldn't ask for better. I had a few problems when I got to the floor with a few different nurses. I had one ask me why I was staying again on my second day. She had no clue about the procedure that I had. The day nurses were not as "caring" as the night shift nurses. I waited for almost 3 hours before begging them to come and hook me back up to my IV after taking a shower. Then when I was discharged, they totally forgot me, so after waiting forever, I ended up walking downstairs to meet my husband. Zelma was an angel! My surgeon was very compassionate and stated that he would address the one issue of having to wait on being hooked back up. I would put any doctor up against him and I would endure anything if I knew he was going to be the one caring for me. Overall, it was a pleasant expierence.

Trinity (or St. Joes) has always had a reputation for being one of the best. It still deserves it.

I first saw Dr. Blaney at a Info Seminar at that he and his staff have monthly. I did not know if I cared for him at first. He seemed a little too good looking and a little too cocky. Although, the Info Seminar was very informative and I was impressed by his emphasis on education and aftercare. The seminar covered all the basis and I made that first phone call the next day. rnAfter my first appointment, I realized I had been unfair to Dr. Blaney, and that he really was a very caring doctor. He spends an hour with his patients at the initial appointment to make sure you understand the different surgeries, the risks, the responsibilities, and to make sure you are a good candidate. rnHis staff are great. I was apprehensive about the appointment, but from the receptionist to the nurse, they treat you with respect and dignity.rnI think that Dr. Blaney is the best. His bedside manner is wonderful, he is funny and caring. As far as the surgery, everything seems to have went wonderfully.

Dr. Blaney is a great surgeon! I saw 2 other doctors before I went to Dr. Blaney, they weren't very friendly, didn't run the tests like he does before you have surgery, and I liked Dr. Blaney after talking to him, he explained it all very well, and I knew he was the one I wanted to do my surgery, if your considering surgery, definitely consider him!

Everyone was very nice and tended to my needs up until the afternoon of discharge. I was experiencing alot of nausea after an x-ray and stayed longer than expected. After shift change, the new nurse seemed like I was just taking up space and wasen't very nice.

My first impression of him was he is nice, down to earth, and caring. He also tells you everything you need to know there are no surprises with him. His office staff is great too they are all very nice, helpful, and if you have any questions they are more then happy to answer them. They all make you feel comfortable you never feel out of place. As a surgeon I would rate him a 10. I don't think you could ask for a better surgeon. His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. Dr. Blaney and his team also hold a support group meeting once a month at the hospital.
