Theda Clark Medical Center Hospital

In January I spent 17 days in Theda Clark for my kidneys. They were awesome! You can even request a computer for your room, with internet. The nursing staff is great and very caring. They treat you well, adn make you feel important. They take the time with you and listen to you and The nurses on 2nd floor are great!! They deserve a big raise and awards! They are quick to answer call lights and bring you what you ask for. When i had my WLS some of the nurses I had when i was in for my kidneys came in the room just to see me and say hi. They saw my name on the loist of ppl there and had to come see me. That was great. Over all, I could not think of a better hospital for anything!!

My one complaint would be that there is little privacy. Patient's are taken through the same hallways that visitors use to get from the 2nd floor unit to the surgery (1st floor). I felt awkward when people were in the hallway both on my to and from (especially then as I looked so "bad"). I got little sleep cause it was noisy and I had a room mate who was very ill. The room was so small that it was very difficult to get into and out of the bathroom with my IV pole. I would have to move my room mate's table in order to make enough room to get into the bathroom.

I cannot say enough good about Theda Clark. The nurses were all excellent and never made me feel like I was a bother. The place was emaculate like hospitals should be, even with the carpeted halls. Sometimes it got a little loud out in the hall, but I am one who is easily disturbed by sounds so I don't really hold that against the hospital. I just shut my door alot. I even got lost on the way to the hospital for one of my pre-op days and I called the outpatient admit desk and a woman there literally talked me in to the hospital and was very pleasant. I would not hesitate to recommend this hospital to anyone for anything.

Overall, hospital stay was pleasant. It was hot and I was unable to get a fan. Friend finally went out and bought me one the day after surgery. Nurses on one shift did not get me up as MD had ordered and I spent 15 hours in bed. Nurse manager was responsive to my complaint and followed up with me 2 days after discharge. Apologized and states she plans to follow up with my concerns. Being a nurse, I have high expectations for myself and tend to hold others to the same. I would not hesitate to go to this hospital again.

They do the best they can to help you of couse they are understaffed like every hospital so everone is over woked they teyed to be their for you all the time my biggest concern was how the rooms where cleaned and how they leave linen and towels and dressing laying around and things aew not wiped down and I feel they should wash there hands when they touch each person
