Temple University Hospital Hospital
I C. U. WAS OK A BIT NOISE
WAITED An HOUR IN THE HALL TO GET UPPER GI. THEN A 1/2 HOUR TO GO BACK TO ROOM BUT HAD PAIN BUTTON
MY FIRST NURSE HAD A PROBLEM WITH ME HAVING THE BY PASS IN HER OPINION I WAS NOT BIG ENOUGH AND TOLD ME SO FOR THE FIRST HOUR IN ICU THE REPORTED MY SURGEON FOR DOING THE OPERATION. NOTHING CAME OF IT. SHE WAS AN OLD CRANKY NURSE.
STAYED IN I C U BOTH DAYS AS THERE WAS NO REG ROOMS AVAILABLE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL A TOLD OF 58 HOURS
Overall my stay was good. My biggest complaints were that the Radiology department was very dismissive of patients. They ignored my complaints, they ignored me when I said I was going to vomit, they did very little to clean me up when I did vomit, and they left me in the hallway, the day after surgery, for at least 30 minutes (probably longer) w/o my pain meds pump.
Also, some nurses did not totally understand what WLS patients were going through and the extra help they may need (getting out of the bed, for example). On the upside, Temple will have a WLS ward completed in January.
