I first met Dr. LePort about a week before my surgery, since I live outside the area. I'd been referred by a Dr. close to where I live whom I trust, and I'm so glad that I went to Dr. LePort! He has a calm demeanor, and I felt full confidence in him immediately. I felt he fully informed me of the risks of the surgery, and what he planned to do (open Rouxn-Y, because of previous open gall bladder surgery). And I'm very pleased with my incision line...very neat and about 7" long.
The only thing I wish the staff had let me know ahead of time, was that my urine would be colored green post-op because of the contrast used to check that the surgery site was successfully intact. Otherwise, the staff was wonderful about informing me of all to expect.
The menu plan is very clear and specific for post-op, and also they had a protein powder supplement available (ProCell) to buy, although I can now order it cheaper directly from the company.
I feel Dr. LePort's surgical competence and his bedside manner are both wonderful. I have nothing to say negative about him.

Dr Leport is the best. He is an excellent surgeon, as evidenced by my complete lack of complications. He is not a huggable hand holder however. He is a very nice, very busy man. My followup has been with one of his associates, Dr Francis, whom I adore. I would recommend Dr LePort, or any of his associates, to anyone. It was all a positive experience.

My first impression of Dr. LePort was that he was a no nonsense type of person, which I liked very much. He laid out the facts and listened to and answered my questions. I felt confident in him and now post op feel the same way. I was set for surgery on 8/27/02 and was in the pre op room when Dr. LePort informed me he was not going to do surgery that day as my thyroid readings were not where they should be, though disappointed (greatly) I again saw his desire to do everything possible to get me the best outcome. My surgery was a month later.
His staff has been wonderful, from Vanessa doing all the paperwork to Dee-Dee's uplifting visits while in the hospital.
The support group on Thursday nights have been my lifeline and I would suggest anyone considering this surgery to attend a few. I am anxiously awaiting the next one tomorrow so I can get some information on the liquid and soft food diets. I thought I knew it all but now that I am in it I have some questions. Though I know I could call the doctors office it is the people that have walked the road before me that can give me the wisdom of their experiences.
I would recommend Dr LePort to anyone considering this surgery.

Dr. LePort was very nice. I never felt rushed while in his office. He answered all of my questions and told me to call him anytime if I had any more. He was very detailed in his explanation of the surgery process and wanted to make sure that I understood what to expect. He also let me know that he supplies the tool, I do the work. He made me feel very comfortable and I look forward to having him be my surgeon.

I have not met anyone yet, but spoke with DEEDEE and she seemed very nice and willing to answer questions and explain the process.

My experience with Lite Dimentions in Fountain Valley was very positive. I had open gastric bypass surgery on June 4, 2002. The pre-op testing was very organized and I got it all done in one place and in one day. I paid cash for my surgery because I do not have insurance, so I finnished my testing and had a surgery date very quickly. Dr. LePort's office staff gave me a cash payment schedule to follow. This was very helpful.
Dr.LePort is an excellent surgeon and a master of Bariatric Surgery, but I must say he is very busy so I have not seen him too often pre or post-op. He is more serious and lacks the bedside manner that his associates have. He is the best around though, so that is why I chose him. I was less interested in bedside manner.
Lite Dimentions offers two support groups each week-on Monday and Thursday. They are lead by Diane LeMonte. She is awesome. The support groups are awesome. I have learned so such from others in these groups. There are a lot of people pre/post-op who attend group, so we get a large turn out.
I am very satissfied with the service I received with Lite Dimentions. I would reccommend this program to everyone.

I a very satisfied with my surgery and the results that are taking place.

This is a very good hospital. My experience with the staff (even pre-op) was wonderful. The young woman doing my x-rays actually got a wheel chair and pushed me to the next building where I had more pre-op appts. The admissions people were kind , the young man who did my blood gas work was very sensitive to my *hard-to-draw" arties and veins and did a great and pain-free job for me. It was a very good experience. I really have no complaints at all, onlky appreciation for a job well done on all fronts.

It was a hospital..not the spa I was hoping for, but then again if I was going to a spa I certainly wouldn't want them to perform major surgery on me LOL
