Stanford University Medical Center Hospital
I thought it was wonderful. I have absolutely no complaints about my care. The only thing I though should probably be different is the type of patients they put together in rooms. My roomate was a Kidney transplant patient and very hight maintenence she was very demanding on the nurses and therefore was somewhat of a bother to me. She even complained and got my husband kicked out just 10 minutes after visiting hours. We were making absolutely no noise we were watching Survivor in between my naps! Other than that from start to finish the hospital was better than I could have imagined!
Everyone I dealt with, from the Admissions people, the pre-op staff, the anesthesiolgists, transport staff, etc., were extremely friendly, helpful and always had a smile. I did not have one negative experience while there. My night nurse was very funny and he had a quick sense of humor. He always made me laugh when he answered my call. If I ever have to have any surgery again, I would definitely love to go back to Stanford.
I am not at all happy with Stanford University Medical Center. They made a deal with my HMO for my care. Afterwards they didn't like the compensation they would get and have sent me to collections for the additional money they want. I would have thought since they're procedure required a second operation on me they would have just written the small amount off to good will, or hell even professional curtesy. But nope they've sent me to collections. Credit rating is damaged and they seem to care not at all. So while I think the care from the rent-a-nurse was good to excellent, I think the hospital itself is no place to be if they're going to treat you this way.
