First appointment is 6/30/2008. He did my husband's hernia repair 10/2007 and I liked his bedside manner. Dr Mason did a lap band on 2/12/2009. I really like his personality, his staff and his professionalism. The surgery went excellant and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a surgeon in Bryan, TX.

My first impression of Dr. Parrent was - \"Geez I am getting old\" - He looks like he could be our son! But he was very informative and his credentials were excellent. He was very easy going and very thorough and patient with my Husband and I. He seemed to know what he was doing and had done many WL surgeries during his residency and at his current practice so I felt at ease right a way. He explained all the risks and the rewards as well as the various weight loss options. He is part of a team of baractric Drs. belonging to the St. Joseph Weight Loss Surgical Center in Bryan, TX. The Center has a very thorough program of before and after care and I highly recommend it, as well as Dr. Parrent.rnrnAfter my surgery he came to see me and was still very confident and easy going. He assured me everything went well and put me again at ease. rnrnAt my post op 2 wk visit he seemed rushed, but was still very informative and answered my questions. His staff is very nice and accommodating, especially the surgical coordinator, Catheryn B.rnrnOverall I would rate him a 10, he is very competent and has a great bedside manner.

My first impression was that he was young!...lol...but I liked him right off. You could tell he was there to help his patients. He is very concerned about the well being of his patients. His office staff is FANTASTIC!!! They too just want to help you an anyway possible. They have made my experience much easier. Future patients should know that they will not only be getting an excellent surgeon but a caring one. He does emphasize aftercare but it is mostly handled by his nurse practitioner & nurses, wich are all great! He was very up front about the risks. Overall Dr. Mason & his staff is a perfect 10.!

Seemed quiet and professional upon first impression. I thought maybe too quiet, then I hung around after the seminar, he and the staff really took personal interest in helping me find a surgeon right for me, since he thought he could not be mine due to my low bmi. When those \"in-house\" rules could be changed, he got me in and we moved forward. I felt lucky to have found someone who remembered my needs and actually went out of his normal routine to get me the care I wanted. Right here in my town. I would have had this done anywhere I could, but local was great.rnrnOffice staff great. Really like the education and fill staffers. Their experiences are comforting and priceless. This was a perfect experience. I am a RN, so may be a little more \"picky\"- just what I needed - not too much -nothing lacking.

I would like to say that Dr. Mason and his staff are the most wonderful people. He is very nice and down to earth and really relates with you. The staff seem like they really do care about you and they cheer you on at every visit.

My first impression was that he was very professional and seemed to know what he was talking about. My impression did not change - he has always been extremely professional, but friendly and very informative. His office staff is terrific. Several people in his office have had the surgery so when you talk to them about a problem they know how to answer your questions from experience. There really isn't anything I didn't like. I would have liked to have seen him in the hospital right after surgery but he came by after I was asleep so I didn't get to visit with him about how everything went. Future patients should know that he has been voted \"best surgeon\" in our area - and there are many - so I think this honor reflects exactly how I feel about him. Aftercare is extremely important with Dr. Mason. He offers weekly support groups and doctors visits as often as I need. He addressed risks with minimal exageration. He made sure I understood them but I never felt scared because I knew I was in good hands and that not having the surgery would be worse for me in the long run than any complications. I would give Dr. Mason the highest rating possible. I believe surgical competence is the most important thing for any surgeon to have... but his bedside manner is terrific. He is always positive, supportive and even funny on occasion:-)
