Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center Hospital
My first impression of him was that he very professional and busy. No my impression of him did not change. His office staff is great and very knowledgeable. Very competent office staff and very approachable. They offer answers when you have questions. I have nothing negative to say about him. Future patients should know that he does not spend much time with a patient unless you require such time. He emphasizes aftercare frequently. Requires monthly checkups after surgery and testing. Yes he does have a structured aftercare program. He gives us the tools it is our choice to work through it. We were educated thoroughly regarding risk and complications. I recommend him and his associates at his practice. I believe that surgical competence is better. I trusted him with my life.

Dr. Quilici has a great reputation. I felt very comfortable in his care. However, I was surprised to be placed on a saline/glucose IV went checking in for surgery which lead to ketoacidosis 48 hours after surgery. Dr. Quilici seemed stumped by the reaction my body had to the physical trauma of surgery and the saline/glucose drip. He's still unsure of why I am using so much insulin two weeks post op. He has a very structured program and is very concerned about aftercare.

My first impression was very good, I immediately felt comfortable with him. His office staff is very nice, but it is sometimes hard to get thru to the dietician in the office, due to the high number of patients the office serves. I only saw one of his associates, but she was awesome both in the hospital and in the office after my surgery. Dr. Quilici emphasizes aftercare a lot and strongly encourages exercise and support groups. The office gives you a booklet that explains the procedure the risks and even his complication rates for all of his surgeries. I would strongly recommend this surgeon to anyone who is considering bariatric surgery!rnIn my opinion his surgical competence and bedside manner are both great!
