My first impression of Dr. Lowe was a good one. He came in the room and made me feel very welcome. He took the time and answered all of my questions and I didn't feel rushed like I sometimes do at other doctor's offices. He was very polite and a strong christian man. I really respected him and he respected me. He made it very clear all of the risk involved but he made me feel like he was going to take excellent care of me. I would rate him overall 9 based on my first impression.

First Impressions .. a very well run seminar, lots of good information presented in an efficient manner. First impression of Dr. V - TALL! He answered all my questions, was very articulate and I felt totally comfortable with him. His staff were all SUPER nice, and several have had WLS. I like the fact that they have a whole post-surgery care support system and EXPECT me to come back at least once a year forever. it's not just a committment for surgery, but for life. A++ !

After I have attended several other Bariatric seminars in the Charlotte area. I went to a seminar featuring Southeast Bariatrics. I was so excited and blown away Dr. Voellinger and his staff answered all of my questions regarding the Lap Band. This seminar focused specifically on the Lap Band and the other WLS as a background. That was great. A infomercial film was shown regarding the Lap Band, a power point slide presentation and a question and answer session. They gave us a lot of information in a packet regarding the band. I was in heaven!!!! Other seminars I attended in the area was not as extensive and talked mostly about the other WLS and little focus on the LapBand.rnrnDr. Voellinger was very personable and humorus and he patiently answered all of our questions regarding the band. He also did an excellent job in explaining the what is next, complications and risks of have the Band and financial options. Office consultations were given that very night so no waiting if you wanted an appointment. My consultation with Dr. V is scheduled for Feburay 23, 2007. I am excited and hopeful. I know that he is the surgeon for me. I feel good about Southeast Bariatrics and Dr. V. and his staff. They have a structured and comprehesive aftercare program with support groups. I know I am making the right choice with Dr. Voellinger and Southeast Bariatrics.

I like someone that does their homework on their patients and this is the Doctor that does. You go Dr. Vee!! rnrnI am a transfer patient to him from Dr Zweng and I was accommodated well.rnI was listened too, I was heard!! and I was able to make a educated decision on a change of procedure. I am now doing LAP BAND.rnrnI was impressed and definitely see that his excellent reputation precedes him. He was definetly worth the wait. It is exactly what i want to do and I am confident he will make it happen and I will be safe. rnrnThe staff really is on point I appreciate Bobbi and all her information not to mention she looks fab. Everyone does . It is an inspiration to know that the decision you are making for yourself is a living and breathing person ; successful after their decision.rnrnI love the fact that most of his staff is comprised of former morbidly obese people.rnrnNow that is a good thing. Plenty of people to relate to and have hands on experience when it comes to the answers.rnrnThere is a contract for aftercare which you have to maintain. I was told what would happen every step of the way. The risks were expalined and I was alsogiven a visual of what could happpen and how it can be repaired.rnrnWell, I feel real good about this , lets send up a lil prayer to bless his hands as he operates on others and soon to be me.rnrnI honestly don't have anything negative to say and I like to think I say what I mean . If things change I will post what I know and nothing more. I belive negativity begats negativity and since I dont have it I dont want to air something that just isn't true.rnrnHonestly, he is a good guy simply put, competent and friendly.

I have had a great experience with Dr. V and staff. I started this journey in June, 06-attending Dr.V's WLS information meeting. I was quite impressed with his caring manner and forthrightness in all aspects-both pro and con-of the surgical process. Several of the office staff have had WLS done themselves, making it easy to share your concerns with them. My 1st appointment with Dr. V was in late July. I had nutrional, psychological and exercise evaluations in late August and was approved for surgery by the 1st of October. I was scheduled for a duodenal switch on November 6th. I ended up with a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. Due to adhesions from prior surgeries, Dr V wisely took this option, which we had discussed prior to surgery. He emphasizes the importance of follow-up, both in support groups and in actual office visits. He was quite frank with the risks of surgery, encouraging you from the start to try to lose as many pounds as you can prior to surgery to help decrease the surgical risks. I experienced no problems during surgery or the post-op period. I give him excellent marks for his surgical care. I would rate both his compentence and bedside manner equally.rn

I think Dr. Voellinger is extremely knowledgeable it helps that he had the surgery himself and that some of his staff has had the surgery as well. He discussed the pros along with cons, and was very straight-forward with his expectations of me and accepted my expectations of him. I rate him high in is knowledge, competence

Dr. Melkonian is a hoot! He was very professional & helpful during my 1st visit. When I finally got approved for WLS and went back to his office, we talked about time & how early to be there for surgery. He told me I was his 2nd surgery that day. I laughed & said if it takes 2 hrs, I want to be first! He laughed & said \"No, I'm just waking up by the 2nd one!\" (He was kidding!!) I'm a huge jokester & thank God that I have the ability to laugh at myself. I appreciated his honesty about this being a weight loss tool, not a magic bullet to fix it. rnHis office staff is great! I imagine in the next few months, I'll get to know them well. rnAfter the surgery, I'll share more of the bedside manner & stuff!

Dr. Voellinger is very straight forward. I liked him from the beginning. His office staff is also very impressive with most having had WLS in the past. There is a wealth of information there and any and all the staff can answer your questions from their past personal experiences with WLS. The risks of surgery are discussed and he emphasis yours based on your medical history. His new office has everyone that is needed for your before and aftercare program. One stop care.rnDr. V. is a \"10\" in my book. His bedside manner is great.

I first met Dr V. in April, when I found out that,I found out that I need to have some revision done. He was extremly friendly and very knowledable. I also like the fact that he has taken care of alot my former surgeons patients that needed revisions and seemed vary familiar with what needed to be done. I received my approval today from my insurance for the revisions and I am very excited.
