Gentle good disposition.Patient with questions.
I discovered on day of surgery he had a great sense of humor.
My impression of him was that he is very professional.
Some of the Office staff are a little frustrating but I am sure they get tired of the same old questions.
I have nothing negative to say about the Dr.
He would put most people at ease I am sure.
He is young enough to be my son so that was a little unsettling for about 15 seconds.

Patients should know that he has done hundreds of these surgeries now.

Keeping on schedule with the routine discussed before surgery is what is important.Follow the schedule set up with the nutritionist.

The risks of surgery are addressed very plainly.
I would give him top billing.
Surgical competence is # one on my list but it sure helps to have good manners to boot.

I must admit that I was a little disappointed at first because I really wanted Dr. Quinlin ( a friend had him) But I was quickly "won over" after the information seminar. Dr. Felix was kind, patient and very caring. He has a sense of humor that put me at ease. He did make sure that I understood the risks involved. He does emphasize the changes that need to take place in your life post op. and they (pittsburgh baratrics) does have an aftercare program in place. He has a great surgical competence as well as an excellent bedside manner. I was so impressed with him that I sent my mom to him! She had surgery on Feb 27th 2004 and is doing great. I did find the office staff to be a little "rough" around the edges at times...but I think it is because they are overly busy. The only negative thing I have to say is that the appointments are only during the day...no evening apts and they are usually running behind...that makes it hard when you work or are on a tight schedule.

My first impression of Dr. Felix was that he was very handsome!! Really, he was very informative and very kind. His office staff (Marie) was very nice and informative. They let me know that they were very informative about getting approvals and what my chances were. Future patient should know that there is $395.00 processing fee due before they schedule a OR date. The fee is for a structured aftercare program. I have been on the internet for the last 3 month going over the risk but he did ask me was I aware. I rate Dr.Felix thus dfar as a 9.

My first impression was that he was very young, almost too young. He's not. He's been a surgeon for at least 10 years. Most of the office staff at both offices are nice, and willing to help. I have not found anything I dislike at this point. When you first see him, his youthful appearance can be a drawback but don't let it. He is very knowledgable about WLS. Although aftercare varies from practice to practice, Pgh Bariatrics has a slower pace for diet advancement. They have support group meetings and prior to surgery you sign a contract relating to a lifetime agreement to aftercare. Dr. Felix talked with me in the office about the diverse risks associated with the surgery and addressed my own personal issues (such as my hernia). We also talked about my risks of not having the surgery. They also provided me with a written list of potential risks. I would rate Dr.s' Felix, Wilcox and Quinlan all as great. They have been available for my after hours calls, have made time to me in the office for a post-op problem on the same day I called.

First Impression of him, he's nice and relaxed. The office staff was very helpful. I'm looking forward to this. I still have a ways to go yet. Have only been to the office once, but it very favorable so far. I only wish they had evening appointments. Nothing real negative to say. He was more than helpful and answered all my questions. He was very patient and I never felt rushed. Very much emphasized aftercare and risks of surgery.
