Ocala Regional Medical Center (COE) Hospital
I was completely impressed. The nursing staff was wonderful. They always answered my calls promptly, cheerfully and made me feel as if they had all the time in the world for me despite the heavy workloads that I know they had. They helped me retain what little dignity they could and one CNA was a previous WLS patient and offered encouragement and helpful hints to get through that time. I dreaded the post-surgery upper GI but it went without a hitch. From the cheerful guy who escorted me to x-ray, the technician who was so careful and helpful to the radiologist who was pleasant, blessedly quick, and encouraging. I even had the nicest admission people, I have absolutlely no complaints and of the 5 hospital stays I've had, I have to say that this was the best one.
I had no problems at all during my stay at this hospital. I was on the 4th floor surgical ward for 5 days. I was very lucky to be taken care of by the finest staff of nurses I've ever encountered. I did not have a single bad experience with any nurse or nurse's aide. Each one of them was pleasant, attentive to my needs and well informed about my surgery. Everytime they woke me up to check my vital signs or get a blood sample, they still managed to make me smile with a pleasant comment or easy manner. I doubt that anyone would term a hospital stay as enjoyable but this was certainly easier than I expected.
