Northwest Medical Center Hospital
I did LOTS of research on all Dr.in my area. Dr. Wizman was very personal, warm and funny. The office staff has always been very helpful and caring. The Dr. does stress after care. Dr. Wizman is good at what he does and he knows it (one of the things I liked about him)
I would tell anyone thinking about this surgery to see Dr. Paul Wizman.
Dr Wizman has been wonderful. His staff is so helpful. They never make you feel like you are an imposition. If you leave a message, they call you right back. Dr Wizman and his staff are very concerned with your after care as well. Support groups, speakers, clothing exchanges...etc. I remember the last day in the hospital, he came to release me and chit chat and he was so warm and funny. He is "a person" as well as a great surgeon. I was so glad the I chose him.
My first impression of Dr.Wizman was ENERGY...followed quickly by confidence...and on the heals of that was sense of humor and a streak of cockiness. Let me ask you...who would you rather have working on you? Give me a cocky surgeon anyday!
He is very through...very knowledgeable...and getting VERY busy. I like him very much. He is very focused on the aftercare program and wants to make sure you know all the risks of surgery.
The staff in his office are all very nice, but also are feeling the burden of the expanding practice. You get the feeling that they are running through a script when talking to them, they looked a little off track when I would make a joke or ask an odd question. But let me state again, they are all really very, nice, helpful and k nowledgeable.
Nursing care was terrible. Day nurse assigned to me was neglectful as in letting my IV fluids run completely out & no response for over 2 hrs & a request to the charge nurse was the only way I was able to have my IV up, dietary didn't respond, they have boxes set up, but again had to request it. I'm a nurse so I know how it works, and it's a good thing she had good co-workers to cover her. I saw more of them than her. Assesment skills, monitoring of intake & output,NOT! Good thing I didn't have much pain, although it did take atrip to the nurses station once on post-op day 2. Pvt room was wonderful & clean
02-10-2003- I did finally meet with the physician. He seems to be a very caring man. He seems to listen when there is something you are not clear on. The majority of his staff seems to be very helpful and understanding.Kendra is Wonderful and so is Faye, but avoid the front desk woman. She is just MEAN. I kinda feel that I am put aside from the other patients because I am coming from 3 and 1/2 hours away. I really hope that is not the case.
First impression: very nice and professional
Imression change: only improved
Staff: friendly , nice and prompt
Least favoritething about Dr.: He's very sure of himself almost cocky but not.
I think you should know: he is becoming, busy, but he knows what he is doing. you never have to doubt his abilities as a surgeon
You must participate in his aftercare program meeting 1x a month a regular dr, visits.
He will discuss at almost annoying length the risks of the surgery and the risks petaingin you you based upon your age and health. and they review them again in detail at your pro op education classes.
I rate him nearly perfect, because I think he would rate himself perfect.
Dr. Wizman makes sure his nurses and the nurses in the hospital give excellent care. He has rooms just for his patients and they are becoming very lnowledgeable about the needs of bariatric patients. He is very personable when he comes to see you in the hospital but he's fast.

Well Dr. Wizman is a very little man for one! However who would have ever known such a little man could do such big and beautiful things. My favorite quality about him is that he is very honest and up front. He did not tell me how beautiful I would look after surgery. Instead, the first thing he asked me was, "are you sure that you want this surgery. He said Kisha, you are so young and matter of fact you are my youngiest patient. To do this is a big change in your life and I need to know if you are really ready for this!" Those where his exact words. I told him "yes."

First impression of Dr Wizman was at the information session. His sidekick Kendra and Dr Wizman were very informative, gave straight up honest information, and I appreciated that. I cannot say anything negative about them, They made the whole experience a pleasant one.His surgical competence is outstanding, and I was nervous at first, but my fears were alleviated by the hospital staff in preop, and Dr. Wizman and Kendra.

My first impression of Dr. Wizman was he
is a funny guy. What a great sense of humor.
As we talked I found out how compassionate
and caring he is. He truly understands our
suffering. What impressed me most was when
he told me we are a TEAM and procededed to
explain how and why. His staff is GREAT and
also fun, which helps ease the tension of a
first visit. The only negative was the long
office wait, but, I really didn't mind because when my turn arrived I was given all
the time I needed. Overall rating is an A+++.
