My first impression of Dr. Keith was neither positive nor negative. They have a very regimented procedure (i.e. a battery of required pre-op testing and support group) I think is so important for success. The woman who facilitates their support groups is also a registered dietician - undoubtedly the most crucial link in his team. Dr. Keith actually had adjustable lap band surgery himself September 2002. If I had one concern it would be that he's not an M.D. I think a surgeon who performs such a delicate procedure ought to have as much training and practice that's available. I'm getting more comfortable with it. They're experienced surgeons, just relatively new to this WLS procedure. They take the laparoscope to a higher level in that instead of using a video monitor, they're equipped with 3-D goggles. Cool, huh? Very important: they insist on a high level of commitment and training from the hospital, nursing staff and ancilliary services. It's a whole program, not just a "treat 'em and street 'em" approach. They sponsor two support groups that meet weekly, and an online group has spawned off them with monthly face-to-face meetings. Continued support is so important to ensure our success! During the year after my surgery, I grew to like and respect Dr. Keith so much more. I had an unrelated bleeding ulcer four months post-op, and he provided good care for that. I think it's important that whoever you choose for your weight loss surgery, you spend lots of time researching the surgeon, his/her team and their entire program. They should have regular free educational seminars where you can talk to them and their patients. Of course their patients are going to think there's no other surgeon better qualified, but you can still get valuable information. If you have specific questions you'd like me to answer about Dr. Keith, just e-mail me.

I have been TOTALLY impressed with Dr. Keith and his office staff from the first visit! They have all been so professional and yet personalable at the same time. I have never felt uncomfortable with any of them! Dr. Keith knows his stuff and he really cares about his patients. He wants his patients to know the good, the bad, and the ugly of WLS. It isn't all easy and he addresses those issues with you in detail. Dr. Keith's bedside manner is wonderful and has been just great with me during this new journey back to LIFE!

My first impression of Dr Keith was at the WLS seminar I attended in OKC. I enjoyed listening to his presentation. He was very informative and has a sense of humor!

10-24-03 I had my consult today with Dr Keith. His staff is awesome! They made me feel right at home, since I drove 4 hours to get there, they got me right in.
Dr Keith is very cool! I am excited I chose him as my surgeon. I think he and I will get along real good! I would recommend him to anyone considering WLS.

Dr. Keith is a very nice man, he is very considerate and patient with the questions you have for him. His staff is outstanding they answer your questions promptley or get right back to you. I am happy that Tri-care Prime has him on their listing. I would refer others to his office.

Dr. Keith is a very nice individual who is willing to answer any questions you may have and seems very helpful.

I only have one complaint about Dr. Keiths staff and that is that they never seem to return your phone calls. I have had to recall them everytime I've needed information.

Dr. keith has you attend a seminar with him and his staff prior to your first appointment and at this time goes over the various types of surgery available, the risks, the possible results and lots of other information is given at the seminar.

I like NRH. I was very displeased with them however when I showed up for Lap R-N-Y surgery at the scheduled time and a nurse told me over the phone that my surgery was cancelled. The nurse stated that she had tried to reach me all day the day before and never could get in touch with me. I don't know how this is possible. The only call we did receive was at nearly 4 p.m. in the afternoon the day before surgery just confirming that I would be there the next morning AS SCHEDULED! The words furious and utter devestation do not even touch how I felt that morning. After all, my family and I were right behind the hospital in the HOSPITALITY HOUSE! Well, anyway all of that was resolved to our satisfaction and we appreciate what they did for us when my new surgery date came around. The only other complaint is that the housekeepers need to clean every room-----every day. I checked in on Tuesday morning and left late Friday afternoon. During this time I saw housekeeping one time and that was the day that I checked out! The nursing staff is fabulous! Duane, Melissa, CAROL, and Leslie.........thank you sooooo much for all that you did for me! I appreciate your every kindness and TLC! God bless you all! Oh, by the way, I am now 2 1/2 weeks post-op and am down 43 pounds!!!! Thanks Dr. Keith and Dr. Spector!!!!!
