New York Weill Cornell Medical Center Hospital
Generally a very nice hospital. Modern facilities. Good staff. I only had once situation with a new nurse who really needed to work on her bedside manner and professionalism but after I complained and got THAT taken care of, I have to say that all else went well. The surgeon himself and the residents visited several times a day, which was reassuring.
When I had an emergency in my bed involving swollowing vomit and not being able to talk, I pressed the emergency call button and when they came on the speaker, they asked what was wrong and I couldn't answer. Because I couldn't answer, she hung up and never summoned a nurse to the room. I could have died in my bed if I didn't force myself to talk the second time I called the nurse.
From the time of admission, to surgery and post-op, everything went like a fine tuned machine. I can't speak highly enough of everyone at that hospital, from the caring responsive nurses, support personnel, and of course, the unbelievable medical staff associated with Dr. Gagner. Everyone was so accomodating, kind, gentle, and genuinely concerned about my comfort. I can't speak highly enough about this hospital.
