Not very attentive during shift change. They took out my catheter a bit before the change, and the first time i needed to get up, there was no one around to answer my call. The night nurse was amazing!

I love Dr. Miles and his staff. The PA and nurse are great too. There is a lot of things you have to do pre and post surgery, but I think it is work it. It made me feel good having to jump through hoops to get the surgery. It made me realize how commited I was to it. I also knew when it was time for surgery all the bases were covered and I was totally prepared.

My first thought of Dr. Miles was that he is very mild natured. His tone of voice was very comforting. I did not see him the first few times I went, but when it was time for him he was right on time. His staff helped me out sooo much, with paper work and all of the questions that I had, and I had a ton. I always felt that choosing him was the best thing I could have done for myself. Dr. Miles and staff are very firm when it comes to following directions, and if they feel that you are not ready he simply won't do the surgery. Actually, Dr.Miles was recommended to me by several people so he is well known and loved by all. As far as having something neg. to say, well sorry nothing as of 01/03/07.

The nurses were terrific. The only thing i haded was that a nurse came in at 5 am to get some blood. Otherwise i had a very good stay. No Problems at all.

I had a great experience at New Hanover. I was told by the nurse that they usually try and give the bariatric patients there own room. Which was exactly what I received. My husband was allowed to stay overnight and they gave him a "sleep chair" that made his stay more comfortable. When I walked around the floor, I noticed all other surgery patients were doubled up in their rooms. They had to share a room, but I got a private room. It was awesome!

I really liked Dr. Harris. Several people at work had Dr. Harris as a surgeon, so I was a little prepared when I first met him. He's very \"to the point\" and took a lot of time to explain the surgery in detail. He answered all of our questions thoroughly. His nurse Terri was also great. She always responded to my calls in a timely manner and was very supportive during my visits.

I loved Dr. Miles and his staff from the first visit I had. They have been great in working with me and trying to overcome my insurance not wanting to pay. They went throught 2 appeals and never took no for a answer. rnThey have you set up with a great aftercare program as well. They informed me of all the risks that come along with WLS and was very upfront on everything. His bedside manner was one in a million. I am just pleased with the whole process as of now. I would highly recommend him.

'What can I say about Dr. Miles? He knows what he is doing! He is up front and doesn't beat around the bush as to what needs to be done and what the patient has to do to be successful after the surgery. I have great respect for this man who has helped me start on my way to a new life! Helen knows everything and is always good at returning phone calls and even takes them during the work day

First and foremost, he is a surgeon. I believe (and my PCP told me first) that he is one of the best laparoscopic surgeons on the East Coast. His specialty is not bariatric surgery, but does all kinds of laparoscopic surgery.

I think he did a great job. His bedside manner is about a 6 on a scale of 1-10, but that's OK..I have other people to hold my hand!

He has a support group that meets monthly at the hospital and a nutritionist that I found difficult to talk with.

There's not much structure to his program, compared to what I read about on OH.

Overall experience was good. Very noisy surgery floor. Luckily I didn't want to sleep during the night. Couldn't have gotten any anyway with all the noise in the corridors at night. I was almost quieter during the daytime hours.
