MidState Medical Center Hospital
When I first met Dr. Tishler he made me feel very good and comfortable. I knew I had made the right choice. His assistant Nina is wonderful and very helpful with answering questions and concerns. He tells it like it is; doesn't sugar coat it it at all. Yet he does it in a manner that won't scare you off. I would rate him a top notch surgeon so far and urge anyone in the Hartford, CT are interested in considering the WLS to go and see him.rnrnUpdate 11/10/2006-I am one visit away from going to insurance for approval. I have had to go to the Nutristionist for 6 months straight but next Tuesday will be my 6th and final visit. It has been a long haul but will, in the end, be well worth the wait.rnrnUpdate 1/15/2007-I have been approved and I should be going for surgery on the 29th of January BUT I had to postpone due issues with my right eye and blown blood vessels. I need to wait and see on that first and then I will reschedule with him.rnrnUpdate 6/9/07-IT IS DONE, surgery was done on the 4th of June. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Tishler and his magical hands. I am feeling a little sore still but otherwise I feel good.rnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrn
He was very claming, made me feel comfortable and didn't made a remark on how bad it is to be heavy , but let me know there is help. Every time I see him I feel more comfortable. He lets you know he really cares about you as a person and he is there for you. His staff is just as wonderful. I have given his name and number to many of my firends and they know I must like him because I don't like doctors. When ever you have a question and you call they will not push your call away they will answer you. I would rate Dr.Tishler and his staff and everyone at Hartford Hospital Bliss 8 all wonderful, caring, loving, and they a A # 1 100++++++ rn THANK YOU DR. TISHLER
I first saw Dr. Tishler the end of January 2006 at his informational seminar, I was very impressed with his knowledge and his feelings towards his patients.rnWhen I saw him in his office the first time the staff treated me with respect and were very upbeat about everything. They are all very understanding and know the answers that you need. rnHe addressed all of the issues, preop care, post op care, the risks and the outcomes.rnOne of the things that made me really feel confident was the way he treated me once when I broke down in his office. He was very caring and human!!rnWhen I did the \"Walk from Obesity\" he was there to cheer on his patients with his family and they walked the entire walk.rnHis \"team\" at Hartford Hospital was the best also. The nurses, techs and OR staff were very caring and compassionate.
When I first met Dr Benbrahim I really liked him. He seemed a bit apprehensive because my insurance tends to deny these claims alot.. but we forged on! rnrnThe office staff has been very nice and Dr Benbrahim also works with a support group of dieticians, therapists and social workers who are all very nice. He has a good pre and post surgical program which I am very happy with. Especially Karen...she is the bomb! rnrnIn the hospital following the surgery Dr. Benbrahim was wonderful. He has a great bedside manner and always put me at ease. He answered any questions I asked without making me feel like I was pestering him and was always there if I needed him. He is super.rnrnAfter care is very important to Dr. Benbrahim and he also requests you attend the support groups his group hold every month. rnrnI am very happy that I chose Dr. Benbrahim to do my surgery. He, his staff, and the hospital he works with are all top notch!
My first impression of Dr. Tishler was that he was very knowlegable in his area of surgery, bariatric surgery. After my second visit, my impression was the same and I had all trust in him to do my surgery. His office staff is just as wonderful as he is. Nina Arnold, the Bariatric Nurse Coordinator, was very compassionate and helped out through the process. Both Dr. Tishler and Nina came to visit me in the hospital room after my surgery which I thought was very nice and showed that they care about each and every patient. Future patients should know that Hartford Hospital is the placed to go for a comfortable process and very caring staff. Dr. Tishler has a structured aftercare program set up where each patient sees him on an interval schedule of 2 weeks, 2 months, 5 months, 9 months, 1 year, and I believe 18 months, but he is always available for appointments in between if needed. The risks of surgery were specifically given and he made sure the risks were understood and that there was a real chance for any of these complications to happen. He didn't sugar coat anything, but made me feel comfortable that I was in good hands. I am 100% satisfied with Dr. Tishler and would recommend him to anyone seeking a bariatric surgeion. His surgical competence and beside manner are both terrific!
The registration process was easy, the hospital is clean, the staff is friendly and the surgical team keeps you well informed and is wonderful. For the most part the nurses and aides were great too. I did find, however, that after my first two days there their attention to me was less. They didn't check up on things as much as they had, things were left untidy. Still, I would have to say that their overall level of care and attentiveness was very good.
Very friendly and made you feel like you were the only one that mattered to him.rnThe office staff is very helpful, and friendly.rnFuture patients should know that when they decide to have the by pass done that they would be in very good hands, and that everything will be done to be sure that your well being is the utmost inportant issue.rnThe after care is the best. A great support group. This group as helped me over come major issues, just being able to chat with people who feel or went throught it the same as you, makes the healing so much easier.rnI would give the whole group the highest mark possible. I could not begin to explain how much they have done for me.
