Considering that it is Johns Hopkins, and most of the other staff were superb, it was very surprising that the nursing staff are so bad! One in particular, my first after the recovery room, had no idea how to operate my cpap and told me I didn't need it! I had to beg for it several times and then get it going myself... they were very inattentive, even the nice ones, and it was dirty!

The hospital was average. The nurses were over worked and assistants were very uncaring and not professional. At one point I was given a thermoter orally without a protector. How many other patients had their mouth on it??? That is just the tip of the iceburg.

I met Dr. Schweitzer for my initial consultation on June 12, 2006. Because of all my research, my impression was no surprise. I found him to be very professional and ready to answer all my questions no matter how insignificant they may be. It's hard to determine a person's personality with only a 15 minute visit, but I can tell you I have the utmost confidence in his expertise and skill. Though the four month wait for an appointment was frustrating, it proves his services are in high demand. I'm thrilled to have one of the best surgeons in the field of bariatric surgery and am pleased at the prospect of knowing Dr. Schweitzer better. As this will be a life-long committment, I'm sure I'll get that chance.rnrnrn

'So busy that he really didnt care

'I would like to amend what I said early about Dr. Schweitzer. I was disappointed in the way my consultation went

'My first impression of Dr. Schweitzer was the same as one of my Internet buddies. He was very professional. He sympathized...)using sarcastic wit)... with me when I told him about the diet pills that I had to take before seeing him. Initially

'I met with Dr. Schwitzer on October 10th. I liked him immediately! I had met with another surgeon (in Washington D.C.) earlier

'I had a lap band done laproscopically Dec. 2001 and have been throwing up ever since. I think Dr. Schweitzer is a good surgeon the lap band just didn't work for my body. I had an EGD done in May and have been trying to get a surgery date to get it out ever since. I have had the worst experience with the office staff. I was scheduled for the EGD on a date when I told them I would be out of town

'He looked younger then my 30 yr. old son. He appears to be very comfortable talking with his patients. He only sees 4 patients a week. To my understand the WLS is all he does

I loved Dr. Sweitzer he is very professional and an excellent surgeon. I work in the health care profession and would have no one else perform this surgery on me. But his office staff OMG. No one returns your phones calls its impossible to reach his secretary any good secretaries out there contact him. His nurse Patricia is wonderful I would personally like to thank her she helped me tremmendoulsy.Taking an active role in this surgery and being persistant will get you rusults. Dr. Sweitzer is always a breath of fresh air.
