Humber River Regional Hospital - Finch St. Site Hospital
I first visited Dr. Hagens office in November of 2004. His staff at the office were very kind, even though his office looked very busy that day. My first meeting with Dr. Hagen went well, I felt very comfortable speaking to him. The only drawback I can honestly think of was that he seemed just a little bit shy. Which I think is probably how I seemed that day as well heheh. He has a set of "team" doctors that you must see in order to get an ok for the surgery. I met with Jeninne one of the social workers that did the psycological exam. She seemed very empethetic towards larger people and put me at ease instantly, I felt very comfortable speaking with her. I also me with the Dietician Dianne, and she has a very solid background in nutrition and seems very very knowledgable. I then met with Dr Zupnik that did my cardiogram and ekg and he was very straight forward and quite friendly. He told me that Dr. Hagen was a very good surgeon. and advised me that he saw 3 other patients of Dr Hagens that he had to turn down because he felt they were unprepared, or not ready in some way for the surgery. I re-met with Dr. Hagen and booked my surgery for March 1st 2005. I feel I have made a very good choice in surgeons. I have waited for quite some time to get the right surgery, and to have the chance to get it done lapriscopically. I understand that it may or may not be able to be done that way, but I am quite happy that I have waited for the right surgeon.
