My surgery was on February 20, 2016. The Family Hospital was outstanding! They picked me up in San Diego and practically did everything for me during my entire experience. The whole process took 3 nights which was perfect because I needed to come back with my kids. Although I probably could have come back after 2 nights. It was pretty easy all the way through, they really made me feel very comfortable at all levels. Highly recomended. Hospital looks brand new but i think its around 15 years old. Dr Sarinana was excellent in explaining me how the process would go during the surgery and after the surgery they showed me a picture of my stomach! It was pretty cool! Looked like a nasty pinkish tube to me but they said it was pretty large. After the surgery I followed the diet plan provided. I noticed the weight loss and the fact that I was eating a lot less right away. Now it's about 3 months and so far I'm close to 50 lbs lost. I am doing a bit more excercise now as at the beginning it was not easy, I would get low energy fairly easy but it's getting better every day. I did notice a bit of reflux at the beggining specially when I was eating larger portions but Carlo has been always available to answer all my questions and helpful enough to schedule a call with Dr Sarinana during my recovery. Overall I am very very satisfied the weight loss program at the Family Hospital is definately worth it I would reccomend it anytime!

My name is Rachelle Mendoza and I had surgery with Dr Sarinana in January 12 2016. I was a little reluctant to reccomend any doctor at first because I wanted to make sure I got the results and the service that was expected. After 4 months I've lost 50 lbs already. Dr Sarinana is amazing. Everyone was very kind and I can not be happier with the way everyone delivered there services and the results that I see right now in me. This morning after I promised Carlo I would share my experience, I weighted 147 lbs. 4 months ago I weighted 208, so I've lost exactly 61 lbs in 4 months, so far! I think the hardest part of this process is before the surgery not knowing what will happen. Hello. My name is Mitchelle Graham and I live in California. I want to take a moment to share with everyone a little bit of what I just had done in the Family Hospital in Mexicali Mexico. I have been suffering from being overweight for over 20 years now. I tried everything, diets, more diets, diet and excercise, pills, therapy, you name it. Nothing worked for me. It worked a little bit, but it was hard to follow through. It's not easy. I seriously thought I would never have the courage to try weight loss surgery. I continued to try my own new strategies as to how to loose weight but everytime I would loose 15 lbs somehow very quickly I would gain them back. Honestly it was a very stressful time of my life. At first i was interested in the lap band because Id heard so much of it. What I was not aware at the beggining was the fact that you need to do fills every 3 months in order for it to work properly. I did not like that about the lap band quite frankly. I ended up searching more about the gastric sleeve and luckily I found the Family Hospital in Mexicali Mexico. I was very fortunate for them to help me through the process. Carlo was very helpful and patient. It's been now 8 months since I had the surgery and I have lost over 70 lbs!! I can not believe how fast and how effective this surgery can change your life! I honestly reccomend this as the best experience and the best decision I have ever had in my entire life. I just went back to the same hospital do get my tubes reversed as I want to have another baby. Yet again the hospital did a fantastic job in taking care of me. This is a great place for you to get surgery as it is very affordable, very clean, and its right next to the US border. I have spent the last few months searching for surgeons in Tijuana and am truly confident in my decision to hire Dr. Maytorena as my bariatric surgeon for VSG. I am beginning my journey September 24, 2015! After talking with LTVSG coordinator, Ruben, he made me feel very comfortable. He was open and honest and answered any question I had. Dr. Maytorena is a highly respected, brilliant surgeon offering the perfect shaped sleeve and an outstanding bedside manner. Hi center is beautiful, clean, comfortable and brand new. His skills and experience are top notch and he is working toward American accreditation for his Tijuana center by American agency - Joint Commission. He is a trained trauma surgeon as well highly trained in bariatrics. His work has been reviewed and complemented by my local American bariatric physician: "your surgeon created the perfect sleeve. It looks great!". That is the highest complement!

I had my surgery on July 6, 2015 and have had no issues, no pain, nothing out of the ordinary. I highly recommend Dr. Maytorena and his highly skilled, super attentive, and adept team of professionals.

Dr. Maytorena did my VSG on March 18th. He was fantastic, had wonderful bedside manner, and was very soft spoken, direct and kind. I am healing very well with no issues whatsoever. I had minimal discomfort and it was an overall pleasant experience considering it was surgery.

I had my vertical sleeve with Dr. Maytorena. I found him through a Mexican friend that referred me to him. My experience was great. The attention and care I received in Mexico was excellent. Dr. Maytorena is a very experienced doctor that inspires trust and care. A couple of friends have gone to him after seeing my results, all of them are very happy as well. Don't think twice to go to him for your weight loss surgery. I am glad we have this option, since having this procedure in US is extremely expensive.

I just want to thank again to my wonderful friend and Dr., all his staff, staff in the Hospital that was amazing, to keep this journey with me and give me all the motivation to get to my ideal weight. when I decided to have the surgery I was scare at the beginning, didn't have insurance and not a lot of money, but I was very young and with a very bad condition, bad habits and bad life in general, when you are not happy with you you can be happy with anything, so I work hard, save money choose the Dr. that answer all my question, talk with me and stay all the process (pre and post surgery) and have the best experience, the city is safe, and the hospital very clean!! after my surgery the pain was manage very well and stay there for 3 days, (they didn't send me to an hotel like others) I stay there with my nurse, the Drs. visited me everyday and the patient coordinators help me with everything (I was alone when I get the surgery) so for me they are like my family!!! I even enjoy from some books that the hospital lend to me!!
