Medstar Franklin Square Medical Center Hospital
I felt like the day staff was very good and met my needs wonderfully. The night staff was lazy and did not want to be bothered with me. Futher the night staff kept turning on the lights when they entered my room and did not turn them off (the light switch was away from my bed.) The night staff also allowed visitors for my roomate way past visiting hours. I finally had to turn the lights and tv off one night just to get them to leave. I could not believe how rude some visitors can be.
When I was going to Franklin Square for some of my presurgical tests, everyone was so friendly and nice that I couldn't believe it. I hoped that during my stay everyone would be too. They were! Everytime I needed anything they were right there. I liked the way that the nurses and techs signed in on a board in my room to let me know who was on duty at any given moment. They would even stop in just to ask if you needed any thing. I was pleasently surprised at the wonderful care I recieved.
The staff made me feel as if I was a bother. When I first woke up in the room nobody could tell me where my husband was, I couldn't call him (I live in PA now and it was long distance). I didn't have a trapeze bar for the first day and a half. Nobody ever helped me out of bed, I did everything on my own. I only called for assistance for two things to plug the IV pump back in and for pain meds and that seemed like a huge bother to them. If I had a choice I would never stay at Franklin Square. One other bummer, the TV is shared with your room mate.
