My first meeting with Dr. Graber was at a seminar he held at the Tanglewood Community Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. The meeting was informative and informal, almost casual in the way he led the discussion as if he was having a conversation with a group of 90 strangers. He answered concerns, questions and made me feel comfortable in his knowledge of taking care of bariatric patients. His staff that he brought with him was knowledgeable and friendly. I spoke to him one on one before the meeting ended, and again he answered my questions and concerns. I met with another surgeon in Canada before going for my consultation with Dr. Graber, and the differences in making the patient educated, at ease and comfortable were what made me choose Dr. Graber besides my confidence in his surgery stats. His clinic has gone above and beyond my expectations in helping me get from point A to B in my surgery journey. Lisa, his patient education nurse, was thorough in going over information to make my decision for surgery, she outlined the risks, the possibilities and the potential for the healthier me I've always wanted. She put my family at ease, and then Dr. Graber went over the surgery information, forms, risks, and even my responsibilities in being his patient. I felt like I could really talk to him, that he was approachable and that his staff would also do their best to help me along the way. I truly believe anyone can be a doctor if they study hard and practice through their training, but besides surgical competence, a doctor without a bedside manner is not someone I feel comfortable with. I really don't have anything negative to say, I am having surgery on Friday, August 8th, 2008, so perhaps I will have more thoughts afterwards. Thanks :)

I met Dr.Graber back in April '08, for my Consultation. When I first entered his office I was taken aback by the large furniture in the waiting room. But I didn't make the connection until later. He was extremely informative, and answered all of my questions without hesitation. He explained my odds of OHIP approving me according to their recent findings from other patients. rnrnHis assistant Lisa was a book of knowledge and educated me in even more detail about certain things I didn't even think to ask. She was very accomodating and was nice enough to consider me for a cancellation, knowing that my want to go back to PA was top priority.rnrnDr.Graber was blunt, and to the point. There was no sugarcoating anything, and that is just the way I like things. Especially when I asked about his thoughts on DS. I needed confirmation that I was making the right surgery choice, and he sealed the deal with his comments and information. Probably because his thoughts were similar to mine :) I expressed that I was a member of the OH forum, and he said he used to post alot here, but no longer bothers, which is a shame. But after reading the Ontario forum, what surgeon would want to. rnrnDr.Graber's success rate is amazing and I wouldn't even bother to follow through with this life changing decision if I didn't have 100% faith in him or his staff. I would recommend him to anyone who is seriously considering having an RNY.

I have every confidence in Dr. Graber. He knows what he's talking about - maybe that's why he talks so fast. And I love his bow tie.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Dr. Graber and all of his staff are great! I especially like the Physicians Assistant and the Dietitian. They a know their stuff and make you feel supported! Great after care and his stellar record can't be denied. Only wish he came to somewhere closer once or twice a month for follow up.

A bit of a \"different\" Fellow, but seems to know his stuff.

At the initial visit he took his time. He was very informative, answered all my questions. His staff are very accomodating and nice. I don't think he'd be tolerant to anyone who doesn't follow his aftercare regimin. I believe that if you follow his instructions all should go well. Didn't see too much of him after surgery, I was seen by his PA who was really great. I would recommend him and his practice to anyone in the upstate NY area.

Dr. Graber is a very polite and nice man. He makes you feel completely comfortable. Although he's kind of \"no nonsense\", it's not in an abrasive way at all. rnHis office staff are wonderful. I haven't come across a single person working there that hasn't been friendly and extremely helpful. Dr. Graber has successfully done nearly 1400 of these surgeries and I trust him completely.
