Englewood Hospital and Medical Center (COE) Hospital
My first impression was that Dr. Stefanie Vaimakis, MD goes the extra mile with regard to procedure and patient care.rnrnThis was reconfirmed through the surgery process, and continued aftercare. The office staff is extremely professional and caring. rnrnI am extremely pleased with the results of the surgery, and the skill with which the surgery was performed. My biggest fear was that I wouldn't be able to have a lap surgery, but all went went. In fact, I went back to work one week after the surgery. rnrnOverall, and without any hesitation, I completely recommend Dr. Stefanie Vaimakis to anyone in the NY Metro area considering Gastric Bypass. She has not only saved my life, but completely changed it. Thank you.rnrn
First impression= so young!rnChanged= very knowledgeable, confident, patient.rnOffice staff friendly and VERY courteous!rnAftercare program is as needed - no questions.rnSurgical competence is better but when dealing with any surgery you need a physician who can address all your needs including a good bedside manner.rnrnGreat experience overall!
Dr. McGinty seemed to be very down to earth. He really knows his stuff and doesn't sugar coats anything. He is very approachable. I felt very at ease with him from day one. However he is very busy. I needed to be on top of thing because one can fall through the cracks and be forgotten. His staff is really good, especially Tania she didn't care how many times I bugged her. I especially like the detailed information they provided before surgery. It covers verything from risks, what to expect after surgery, they even provide you with a shopping list to prepare your return home. They even have suggested daily menus. They also detailed after care guideliness and what problems to look for when you go home. It has been a very well prepared program from the first day I attended the seminar. I would rate him an A+.

AT FIRST I THOUGHT HE WAS A FIGMENT OF MY IMAGINATION. I KNEW HIS NAME AND THAT WAS IT. ALOT OF US WERE WONDERING IF HE WAS REAL. AS IT TURNS OUT HE IS REAL AND QUITE PERSONABLE. I AM NOT OVERLY ACCEPTING OF DOCTORS (HAZZARD OF WORKING IN A HOSPITAL) BUT I MUST SAY DR. MC GINTY IS ALRIGHT. SINCE I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS SURGERY FOR OVER A YEAR NOW I HAD FEW QUESTIONS FOR HIM. HE WAS ABLE TO PUT ANY CONCERNS I HAD TO REST, ANDANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS WITH THE PECISION I WOULD EXPECT FROM SOMEONE GETTING TO SEE DEEP INSIDE ME :). HIS STAFF IS TOP NOTCH. ALL OF MY APPOINTMENTS AND TEST TOOK PLACE WITH LITTLE OR NO PROBLEMS. NOW, AS I COUNT DOWN THE DAYS BEFORE MY SURGERY, I AM EXCITED AND NERVOUS (IN A GOOD WAY).
DR. MC GINTY AND HIS STAFF HAVE MDE THIS EXPERIENCE AS HASSLE FREE AS POSSIBLE. I KNOW THAT I CAN REST ASSURED THAT ALL WILL GO WELL WITH ME IN HIS CARE.
My first impression was good. The general vibe was that he was rushed- but I had a lot of questions and he patiently explained all of them. So far my impression of the office staff has been good. My favorite person is the exercise physiologist- she is so sweet and caring it really comes across. The nurses were also nice. So far I have been very impressed with the Wish Center. The pre surgery work you have to do is in depth. From what they have described the aftercare will be that way also. I feel they are very invested in my success. I'm not terribly impressed with the patient liasion yet- but maybe that will improve with time. I guess I'm frustrated that she told me she would send my paperwork in and three weeks later she had not done it.
He has an ego the size of Texas which is exactly what I expect in a surgeon--no mistakes on his watch.
They are the BEST!!!!!!!
nothing, he's a surgeon and he's a very good one.
If yu are looking for warm and fuzzy, he's not it, but he's a good surgeon and I felt completely safe on his table.
Very structured--it's The Wish Center.
All of them in detail. Nothing is left unsaid.
GREAT
Surgical Competence. I get bedside manner from my family physican.
I thought Dr. Strain was very nice and competent. Very willing to answer any questions that I had. He was wonderful while I was in the hospital and I would definitely recommend him to others. The nice thing about having the surgery through the WISH center is the structured program that they have. You are able to talk with a dietician, psychologist, and exercise physiologist so you are able to draw from a wealth of information. They have a structured aftercare program and highly recommend connecting with a support group.
Overall I would give Dr. Strain a very high rating!
