I started my weight loss journey in December 2010, I was referred to Dr Steinberg by my OBGYN. I visited his seminar in Jan 2011 where I made my desicion that this was a journey I was ready to face. My first visit to the Office I met with Dr Steinberg and his assistant Jacky where I became a little more comfortable about what I was about to face. Jacky provided me with the list of doctors I had a to see and a realistic timeline of everything. I have been really pleased with the courtesy and knowledge of the staff and Doctor. My surgery is scheduled for July 21,2011. I am at the stage of excitement and anxiousness. I would recommend Dr Steinberg and his staff to anyone that wants to take this LIFE CHANGING JOURNEY!!!

Wow... I am so confident in not only my surgery but in my surgeon and his office. I am a RN and have met tons of MD's throughout my career. Dr. Steinberg and his staff made me feel like I was the only patient waiting on him. The office was full, every staff person was friendly. Jackie (insurance coordinator) was AWESOME!

I am in the early stages of going through the approval hoops however, I feel like the office supprts me and is there to help!

I had to wait a little before being called back. Even with that, I think it was to allow me time to read through my new patient paper work. I left with all my questions answered. (That I remembered to ask). I was able to schedule my nutrition appointment a little further out than I hoped (3 weeks). Again, not a bad thing since I have a few others to knock out of the way!!!

Highly satisfied!

Today was my first visit with Dr. Rashid. When I tell you she is AWESOME, this is an understatement! Dr. Rashid is extremely professional; she took her time and explained everything to me in terms I could I understand. She answered my questions over and over and didn’t mind repeating herself. Dr. Rashid was genuine and you can feel she cared. When I started my appointment I went in with the thought I would have the RNY and after Dr. Rashid answered my questions on the Gastric Sleeve, I am thinking more towards the Sleeve. What I really liked was, when I told Dr. Rashid she would be the one to make the ultimate decision as to which surgery was right for me she quickly let me know she would not be making the decision for me. “WE” together would be making the decision. She made me feel my opinion counted. This really meant a lot to me!
One last note, I would also like to provide some feedback on Dr. Rashid’s office staff. Everyone from the receptionist(s), to the Billing/Insurance Specialist (Jackie), and the nurses/RN has been top notch. I have gone to one other surgeon to start the WLS procedure and I found I couldn’t deal with the staff and decided the surgery was NOT for me. I feel the office staff is just as important as the surgeon. It seems we will be dealing with the staff more often than the actual surgeon. Again, you could feel the staff cared. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!!!

Qammar Rashid is a wonderful surgeon. She treats her patients wonderfully. She explains everything completely and treats you with respect. I felt comfortable with her. The hospital staff were great as well. I would recommend both Dr. Rashid and Decalb Medical to anyone interested in this surgery.

Dr. Rasheed is a first class professional. She cares for her patients as human beings, not as numbers or dollar signs. I left the hospital two days ago, and I believe she stopped in to check on me three times in two days not counting the counting the surgery itself.

I think Dr. Steinberg is an OUTSTANDING doctor!
When I first met him I was nervous about having the surgery but his confidence and thoroughness in explaining all that would happen made me less nervous. I have the utmost confidence in him.
New patients to him can relax in that he has no problem in answering questions no matter how many you have but he expexts you to do your part and very honest in telling you if you don't what can happen. As far as aftercare is concerned. I feel like I am just as important to him as a patient since the surgery as I was before. I would definitely rate him a 10!

The nursing staff in the 3400 wing could be more attentive and patient. The staffs attitude sucked. I feel as if you like nursing or you don't there is no in between. If my doctor worked out of another hospital I would have considered that hospital before I chose Dekalb.
