Danbury Hospital Hospital
The staff up on 10 Tower was wonderful in addition to Dr Zuccala and his team -thank you Dr Im & Catherine!
Usually I like keeping things with in my community but because of the out standing treatment of leaving "no rock unturned" and the state of the art equipment as well as the friendly bed side manner. (which is hard to get all from one facility)Plus the cleanliness of the grounds inside & out. The Parking to go with each type of services. (if ya get a map it's easy) I was willing not only to travel out side my community but also outside my state to Ct. 20 minute ride.
Well worth it. THANK YOU Danbury Hospital.
The nursing staff would write there name on the board in my room each morning, help me get cleaned up,always attentive to my pain or lack of. Continued to inform the next shift every little thing that went on with me the shift before. Encouraged me to get my ASS out of bed and walk, walk, walk!!!
Pre-op i used all of there in house groups for work-ups. Unbelievable how hand in hand they work. VERY through Dr. Williams, Dr. Prince, Dr Kanaan, Dr. Kramer(visited after surgery!)Your great!
"look for the God in others first"
The nurses were polite and I appreciated that they introduced themselves to me and wrote the names of my nurses on a dry erase board in my room at the start of every shift.
The staff was responsive to my requests and I only had one experience during which I waited an unusually long time for my medication.
My first complaint is that I don't think I was really tended to very much. Not that I expect for people to be sitting at my bedside catering to my needs. My complaint is that I was basically left on my own until I had a need arise. I guess I expected more one-on-one care.
The second complaint I have is about cleanliness. My room got dirty and wasn't cleaned - at all - during my stay. In addition, I wasn't helped with washing or showering at all.
Aside from those minor complaints, it was a decent hospital experience. If someone has trouble asserting his/herself, or has a rough time with surgery and isn't able to speak up for themselves, a patient could easily slip through the cracks.
